Is Localism really what it was meant to be? Fortunate to be a member when Active Rain introduced a new marketing tool for us called Localism, I quickly realized the value it could bring us. Reading the purpose of Localism reinforced that impression. I have included the purpose below so those of you that have never read it or have not read it for some time will be reminded of the purpose of Localism. Do ActiveRain and Localism bring you business? If not, get BLOGGING! Are you getting business from your time here on ActiveRain.com and Localism.com? If not, is it because you are not writing the type of posts that consumers are looking for? Is it because you are not posting often enough? Not only is it important to write about topics that are of interest to consumers, it is also important that you do it often. Don't be discouraged if business doesn't come your way overnight. localism: The Power of Active Rain is Putting Lake Anna, VA on the Map

When you live in a community such as Lake Anna, Virginia you really learn to appreciate how great it is to live in a small place. Working in real estate in a small place can sometimes be a different thing. The positives are that the whole Lake Anna area is your neighborhood. At least that is exactly the way I feel about it. That provides you with the ability to really know your market and to know it well. If not, hurry, hurry, hurry! What am I talking about? Where do I think you should go? Of course, I am talking about our new localism.com. It deserves a little fanfare and here it is. Please excuse the photo quality. It is off the TV, taken on the Fourth of July during the fireworks on the Mall in Washington, DC. Leaving home? Even for just a run to pick up milk? Think before you leave. Make sure you have your car keys, driver's license, cell phone, some money (in 2007 that means credit card), and the all important camera. DO NOT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!! You just never know what you might spot. Maybe it's because I am getting older (code for elderly) and my memory is not so sharp I love having photos to remind me of all the fun and interesting things I see out there in my Lake Anna world. Who would have thought!!! Last night I posed a question in another post with the title Does Localism Intimidate You? Next thing I know I started getting such great comments I couldn't pull myself away from the computer. Finally, sometime in the early hours (I don't want to admit to the time) I finally went to sleep. Sure enough, this morning when I finally got on the computer there were more comments. Not only were there many of them...many can be any where from 2+ when sometimes your post gets zero...they were wonderful ones. Very encouraging AND very helpful. REALTORS provide wonderfull service!
