virginia: VIRGINIA'S LAKE ANNA STATE PARK IS PART OF A GREAT PARK SYSTEM - 06/08/13 01:32 PM
Virginia's Lake Anna State Park is part of a great park system. Year after year the Commonwealth of Virginia has proudly grown and increased its services to the public. Virginia opened six parks simultaneously in 1936 and has increased that number through the years. Even with low budgets, the park staffs have continued to provide exemplary care of the thousand of acres under their stewardship. Virginia’s state park system in 2001 became only the third recipient of the biennially presented National Gold Medal Award for excellence in parks and recreation management. The National Gold Medal Award recognizes the state park system considered most outstanding

virginia: WINTER AT LAKE ANNA CAN BE WONDERFUL AS WELL - 01/12/13 02:19 PM
Winter at Lake Anna can be wonderful as well. Without a doubt we enjoy the scenery here during the spring, summer and fall. But what about during the winter? Hopefully this photo will show you what I enjoy even during the winter months. Although the days are shorter with that comes the soft lghting of winter's dusk. There is something very appealing about the setting sun shining on the landscape before darkness falls. Every season has its own appeal and that is why every time of the year at Lake Anna is enjoyable.

virginia: It's Time to Go Shopping for Your Lake Anna Home - 01/02/13 08:01 PM
It's time to go shopping for your Lake Anna home. Are you thinking that perhaps it is too early in the year to be thinking of all the fun you can have with your own lake house? It is never too early to get started. Perhaps you will be one of the fortunate ones that finds just the right spot soon after you begin your search. That would be wonderful but perhaps it will take a couple of months entailing a few trips to the lake to view available homes. No matter how long or how quickly the search takes,

virginia: At Lake Anna...An Office with a View - 12/14/12 04:11 PM
Lake Anna an office with a view is the next best thing to a home with a view of the lake. Fortunately I am lucky to have both. Since returning to Dockside Realty over two years ago I've had the opportunity to work from an office with a view of Lake Anna. My office is at the back of our building and looks out at the lake by the bridge which crosses the water by Rt. 208. The office itself is located next to High Point Marina so as I look out the window I often see boats being launched or

virginia: One More Day on Lake Anna - 10/07/12 04:34 PM
The fall season is showing us that it is definitely here but there are still days that seem like summer. When we have those days it is the perfect time to once again get out on the lake. The wonderful thing is that days like this come along quite frequently. Now that's not to say they will all feel like summer but sunny days with the temperature in the 50's even in the midest of winter will find the boating and definitely the fishing lover out on the water. Every day at the lake is another happy day for many of

virginia: LOVING LAKE ANNA...Once Again - 09/28/12 07:35 PM
Loving Lake Anna...once again. I don't know if I ever thought, 20 years ago when we moved down here, that I would love Lake Anna as much as I do. For a perso that had never spent more than eight years in one home it amazes me that I have had such a sense of contentment being in one place for so long. Having lived in nine states, Washington D.C, plus Puerto Rico, Italy and Somalia I've always thought that moving was an adventure. Yet, now I never seem to tire of driving in the countryside that surrounds Lake Anna. Crossing the

virginia: MORE FUN AT LAKE ANNA, VIRGINIA - 08/17/12 05:55 PM
Having fun at Lake Anna is easy. Here's one more way to do it. Although as much as I like the idea of spending some time on a house boat I must admit that having a home here is even better. Fortunately there are plenty of homes on the market in a wide range of prices. We have homes that are off water. We often refer to these as access homes. As the name conveys, although these homes may not be waterfront they do have access to the lake. Many of these homes have boat slips assigned to them for their

virginia: SEEING IS BELIEVING at LAKE ANNA - 06/18/12 03:47 PM
SEEING IS BELIEVING at LAKE ANNA! Well, that's an old adage but as true today as it has ever been. We are so aware of that here at Lake Anna. After all we have proof. For years we have been offering boat tours of Lake Anna and that has definitely contributed to the success of our business. A COOL DAY BUT STILL A BEAUTIFUL BOAT TOUR OF LAKE ANNA What could be a better way to convey that idea than to actually take our prospective purchasers out for a boat tour of Lake Anna. Spending an hour or two cruising

virginia: Something Was Calling Me Down to the Dock - 05/11/12 06:27 PM
Something was calling me down to the dock. I'm going to share a photo and perhaps you'll be able to quess what. Come on Down! It really didn't take much coaxing. Today was another gorgeous day here at Lake Anna and what better way to enjoy it than simply relaxing down on the dock. Glancing out the window and seeing the gorgeous blue water and with a little encouragement from my granddaughter, Sean, I was more than ready to take it easy and enjoy the sunshine and beautiful breeze this afternoon. Selling real estate at Lake Anna means that I

virginia: EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL AT LAKE ANNA - 05/04/12 02:35 PM
Everything is beautiful at Lake Anna...even the spiderwebs. Yes, we're out in the country and we love it but it does come with certain amenities that might take some getting use to. One might be spiders that find all this fresh air and peaceful living give them plenty of time to create their masterpieces. Now you can fight this and probably win or you can choose to take some pleasure in their creation. We do a bit of both. However, when I come across one like this I say live and let live. BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF

virginia: Lucky Me...Living at Lake Anna Next to a Beautiful Garden - 05/02/12 06:23 PM
Often when I give directions to our home I make reference to my neighbors garden next door. They also live on the water and have chosen to garden up towards the road where the area is more open with less trees. It apparently is the perfect spot for this purpose. Ever since our neighbors moved down to Lake Anna to live here full time they have produced the most amazing display of flowers. For a good part of the year I can tell folks that we are the driveway right after the property with the wonderful garden. It doesn't surprise

virginia: Living is Good in The Waters at Lake Anna - 05/02/12 01:45 PM
Living is good in The Waters at Lake Anna. Located on the private side of Lake Anna, The Waters as it is commonly referred to, is the first subdivision at the lake to have a community pool and club house. These amenities, along with the tennis courts, walking trails, and soccer field, make this a very popular spot for buyers. The entrance to The Waters is on Kentucky Springs Road (Route 652) and is recognizable by its white rail fence and signage. With land encompassing both sides of Kentucky Springs Road, The Waters is one of the largest subdivisions on Lake
