This year marks the 31st Annual Light Up Mount Dora festival which will take place Saturday, November 26, 2011.   The night's Centenial theme will celebrate hometown heroes of all apects. 

The festivities begin at 5pm and the evening will end around 9pm.  Host Joel Warren will kick off the event by welcoming visitors and acknowledging the community's heroes. 

Arrive early and plan to find your spot in Donnelly Park.  At 6:10pm the Mayor will flip the switch that will "Light Up Mount Dora."  Prepare to be captivated by the glow of 2 million lights strung among magnificent Oaks.

The evening will be jam-packed with performances by the Icehouse Theatre, the Community Choir, Mount Dora Ballet Company and "Elvis."  Food and drink vendors will be available along the streets of downtown.

Shortly following the light up ceremony Santa Claus will arrive to meet and greet the children.

History of the Lakeside Inn

Run as an Inn for more than 128 years, the Lakeside Inn of Mount Dora FL is the oldest operating Inn in Central Florida. The first building of the Lakeside Inn was built in 1883 as a 10 room hotel.  When the Inn first opened people would arrive by boat from Lake Dora.  The city of Mount Dora would not be what it is today if it weren't for the Lakeside Inn that drew people of importance, such as President Coolidge, throughout its 128 years.
