Recently the CEO of REOTRANS happily announced how they were partnering to help Bank Of America with their short sale operations.

Ever since the announcement I have not been able to get a single thing done on my Bank Of America Short sale.

The folks at Bank Of America forward my call to REOTRANS while REOTRANS tells me that the lender must authorize the home to be placed into my account.

The homeowner was even on a three way call with REOTRANS and Bank Of America they could not figure it out.  The Bank of America Agent finally just hung up.

Meanwhile a short sale that is nearly complete will now foreclose on December 2nd and be handed over to an REO agent who will pay fees to REOTRANS.

These folks are pretty clever.  They get short sale real estate agents to move all their files over to REOTRANS and they are ready to foreclose on and be placed on the market that much sooner.

All the while the homeowner's does not get their short sale approved and the real estate agent does the work for free.  Here's the home run for Bank Of America.  It's paid for by you the Taxpayer via stimulus dollars.

So just keep this in mind when your asked to move your short sale files over to REOTRANS.

It reminds me of the wizard in "The wizard of OZ"  He was hding behind the curtain the whole time.

Has anyone out their had a similar situation?

I just received a text saying the credit has been extended to April 1 2010.

This is from Fox news just a few minutes ago.

Senators have struck a deal to extend a popular tax credit for home-buyers beyond those buying their first house,

Those who have lived in their residence for five consecutive years would be newly eligible for a $6,500 credit,

It appears as though the credit will be $8,000 for first time buyers and $6500 for those who have owned a home for more than five years.

Yeah!!

Senate to vote on Home buyer credit extension today.

I just received this and wanted to pass it along.  Here is an excerpt of what Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is proposing.   Under Reid's plan, the $8,000 tax credit would be phased out over time, dropping to $6,000 in April, $4,000 in July, and $2,000 in October, before expiring at the end of 2010.

What are your thoughts?

An estimated 250,000 attended this years Mount Dora Craft Fair.

I spoke to several vendors on Sunday that told me they sales were brisk on Saturday.

From my viewpoint the fair was a success for a number of important reasons.

We noticed that the parking fees were lower than previous years and many of the vendors seemed to have made adjustments in their pricing.

The event was well marketed through multiple media outlets.

Mother nature cooperated with sunny weather too.

Visitors at 2009 craft fair

Here is a creative piece of artwork I felt was quite appropriate for the times and location of the event.

It's no secret that families are looking for economical activities and that is a major reason for attending.

I did make note of an increased number of visitos carrying their purchased treasures as compared to last year.

Also, I understand at least two offers were written on Mount Dora Real Estate as a result of out-of-town visitors.

If you are thinking of re-locating to our charming area please be sure to look us up.  We would be thrilled to show you all this area has to offer.

Sending a Shout Out to Lightning Robert Lyles and Ben Griffin of Micki Blackburn Radio located in beautiful Clermont Florida.

I had the very special opportunity to be a guest on their Radio show on October 10th 2009 from 10 AM to 11AM.  They broadcast on WLBE radio and are also available on the internet.

Ben Griffin and Robert Lyles

We discussed several real estate subjects including the $8000 tax credit and protecting homeowners rights.  Also, we discussed some of the finest listings in the area.

Thanks again to my Ben and Robert!

For anyone who is new to AR we just want to let you know it really works.

A few months back I was contacted to list a home in the Mount Dora area.

The referring agent had read a few of our AR blogs and after a telephone interview we received the referral.

We were the fourth Realtor to list the home and the owner was feeling a severe cas of Seller Fatigue.

The home closed about a week ago and the customer was very happy.

Again, We just wanted to thank the developers and members of AR.

Have a great selling season,

Karen and Ray Levy
