To be a good writer, I think you have to know why you write. When I first discovered ActiveRain I had no clue what a blog was. My husband pushed me into jumping in due to his enthusiasm towards the prediction of the Blogging Boom! Since then, after so many attempts to find my voice in my words, I am still searching. I was drawn in to this place because with each post I would find myself on google and my personal site rose and rose and finally made it to the top. Whoa, it's almost 5:00 pm here in Huntsville Texas and our electricity just went out. Our heat index today is supposed to be up to 106 degrees. It is totally miserable. I've closed all the drapes and blinds to attempt to conserve cool air. I just finished reading Adam Waldman's Goodbye to his father and I'm feeling lonely, as I am alone and a bit apprehensive about this possible problem with the electricity.

I am a very very ,very, very young grandmother. (ha) I keep telling myself that. My g-kids go to school every day and see signs along the corridor that tell them NO FIREARMS ALLOWED. They sit and watch as schools are taken over by nut cases whether they be adults or children. My daughter will not let them out of her sight and if one goes to a restroom outside the home they are required to team it with an adult in sight. They are strongly taught to say NO.

I can remember being so humiliated in typing class as a Freshman in high school. My classmates didn't seem to be having the same trouble as me. I sat in front of that clunky looking apparatus and I thought it was ugly and distasteful. Why on earth would I ever want to learn to type? My nails were long and my fingers were longer than most. One of the most difficult things I've found about actively working my Real Estate profession is that I need to keep my opinion to myself! This is one of the greatest things about Active Rain!

I just wanted to quickly tell all of my Rainer Friends to have a Happy Mother's Day! I was blessed with a mother that loved me unconditionally. She was my best friend for as far back as I can remember. I lost her in 2004 and for that I will always be saddened deeply.

Active Rain has had so many articles based upon dual agency recently. Dual Agency comes in many different packages. Arguments ensue about how the agent will divulge information to the other client and all this is illegal, immoral, unethical and doesn't stand a chance of being honest.
To this I must say "phooey". Yes we are all human and I do believe that most of us Realtors are in this business for the good of our clients.

I am finding that the phrase "necessity is the mother of invention" is holding true throughout the ages. Little by little I am learning to take advantage of the incredible information here on Active Rain.
I have toyed with the idea of adding widgets to my sidebar for some time. I stormed over to my profile's edit bar and clicked. I knew nothing. I gave it a try with our company logo and well, I actually got the logo in there but what a mess it looked like! Yuk.
