Just today in a conversation with my mom she pointed out I was "lucky" to still have my dad.  She was a very young 34 when she lost her dad to a heart attack.  And earlier this year I lost a 45 year old (that's younger than me) cousin to a heart attack.  Now maybe in 1979 when my PAPA died and I'd never even heart of a stint or a stress test... but in 2011 with the medical technology...  Please listen to your body, heed those warnings and see a doctor.

Happy Thanksgiving.
There are a couple of things ... first I want to say thanks to my very sweet client who sent me flowers as I was recuperating from my recent surgery.  I've always said I am blessed with the best clients.  This is just further proof it is really true.  This particular client was supposed to already be a home owner because the contract was for last week.  But as can happen with real estate, there is a little problem that has to be worked out and he agreed to give the seller time to work it out and extended … (12 comments)

Thanksgiving is a very special time.  In my family it has become "tradition" to change the day. My brother, my husband and my daughter are among the 12% of Americans who will be at work tomorrow.  So for my Thanksgiving post I thought I would say "thank you" to those who will also be at work tomorrow.

I read a blog post today about a large population living in a small area (5 square miles) and I just couldn't really wrap my mind around it.  But it did send me on a Google search to find out what the 2010 census showed for Putnam County which is the county I live in and one of the three that make up the borders of Lake Sinclair.  I was relieved to discover we still only have 61 people per square mile.  I don't much .like crowds.  More and more I am realizing that it's growing close to time for me … (31 comments)

When I wrote Happy Veterans Day Daddy, I love you,  3 years ago today I didn't tell you that 12 years ago today I was sitting in a hospital and my Daddy who had surgery to remove the cancerous tumor.  I am so fortunate to always celebrate my Daddy's "life" day on Veterans Day.  12 years and counting and I still have my Daddy.
By the way (that post was my first feature)  Didn't get many comments, but got one from Bob Stewart and that has always meant a lot to me.

Winterize your Lake Sinclair home now. - 11/10/11 10:26 PM
Today I spent part of the day on the phone and emailing sellers about winterizing my listings.  Tonight we have our first freeze warning.  It's early for that, but mother nature didn't really ask us, she just sent it.  And out in the rural area where I live many homes still have wells.  And your well house needs several things:
Insulation
Wrapped pipes that exposed
A light bulb or spotlight

It's the rare day that I leave the office early.  As a general rule you can find me at my desk for up to an hour past closing time on any given day. Yesterday I had one of those rare days.  And I used to time to go and check out our new Kroger.  It's 93,000 sq. ft., so that was a LOT to check out.  It even has a Starbucks.  I used to have to drive nearly to Atlanta for Starbucks... now it's just 5 miles from work.

In chatting with a friend recently who happens to be a real estate broker I was telling him about the lowest price sale our office had this year.  I didn't tell him the contract price, he'll have to wait until it closes.  You will too for that matter.  But what I will do is show you this pending listing.
Mind you... it needs work, LOTS of work, but bones in the 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath home built in 1947 are good.  And the list price $11,900.
