Leander and Round Rock ISD School Rankings Zoom to the Top! - 08/04/08 09:47 PM
The Texas Education Agency released its Accountability Ratings for Texas public schools and school districts. There was considerable progress in student learning and achievement evident in Round Rock and Leander ISD's campus ratings, and in their district-level measures, as well. 
 The 2008 TEA Accountability Ratings showed 22 of 30 rated Leander ISD campuses ranked either Recognized or Exemplary (73%). This is a significant improvement over our 2007 ratings, when LISD had a total of 16 of 27 rated campuses ranked Recognized or Exemplary (59%).  The Accountability Ratings are based on spring 2008 student performance on the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAKS) statewide testing … (2 comments)

October 1st -FHA Down Payment Assistance Program- GONE!! - 08/04/08 05:33 PM
The President signed H.R. 3221, Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, into law.  The bill contains a provision (SEC. 2113) that forbids FHA from insuring mortgages in which the down payment comes directly or indirectly from an interested third party (such as the seller), beginning October 1, 2008.  Furthermore, as of this date, the minimum down payment will be increased from 3% to 3.5%.
