View Larger Map I love to shop for books at thrift stores. One of my favorite thrift stores is Last Chance Thrift Store in Palm Harbor. Unfortunately they don't have a website.
Some of the proceeds go to benefit Vietnam Veterans of America. Today my husband and I stopped by to look at the videotapes, books, and clothes.
 
I took two pictures with my Blackberry which are anything but clear but it gives you an idea how well-organized the store is.

Downtown Tarpon Springs is known for its sponge docks. Some its initial visitors spotted tarpons jumping out of the waters so named the location Tarpon Springs.
The first Greek immigrants arrived to this city during the 1880s when they were hired to work as divers in the growing sponge-harvesting industry.
This industry helped build a Greek community that is now famous for sponges but also for some of the finest Greek restaurants and bakeries in the country.

This is important news about FHA loans. Since I keep in close constant contact with  mortgage representatives they let me know so that I can let *you* know.
 
Effective for FHA case numbers issued as of December 7, 2009, HUD is changing the way condos are approved for FHA financing.


As of December 7, 2009, FHA's Spot Loan Approval process for condominium projects will be eliminated. There are now two approval process options:
 
1. HUD Review and Approval Process (HRAP) and

Lately I have been super busy with buyers. In fact today when I was at my Tarpon Springs office four buyers stopped by. Typically one person will stop by while I am catching up with my paperwork so four is unusual but it does not surprise me because there are many homes that are very affordable.
 
In the last few days, I've snapped a couple of pictures with my Blackberry.

I have experience with short sales in Tampa Bay, Florida on both the listing and the buyer sides. 
Though it can be unnerving at times it's letters like the one that I received today that puts it into perspective:
Of course I have edited out much of their letter but it stated something like this:

Real Estate and Unemployment: Nationally... versus Specifically for Florida - 11/06/09 09:55 AM
According to the latest Department of Labor statistics the "jobless rate rose to 10.2 percent, the highest since April 1983, from 9.8 percent in September."
Let us look specifically at Florida.
It is actually HIGHER than 10.2%. For Florida as of September 2009 it is 11% which is an increase since August 2009 when it was 10.8% so for the State of Florida the number is rising.
This number does not include commission-based sales people like realtors ® and others who do not receive a salary nor does it include some workers like part-time workers.

There are so many exciting things to do in Tarpon Springs, Florida. In many ways it reminds me of Hawai'i where I was born and raised due to its many cultural activities, sightseeing, sunshine year-round, and close proximity to the water. Did you know that Tarpon Springs, Florida has not one but *two* beaches??? Fred Howard Park and Sunset Beach.
Some customers have graciously asked me to please post some pictures of Tarpon Springs, Florida.
