In any profession there will be a graph of those participants with the highest and lowest IQs. Contrary to popular belief this graph is not a Bell Curve. In fact it follows more in line with the 80-20 Rule. In considering this and studying the participants in the industry, it was noted that there are several sectors of the real estate profession that must be considered, each having a similar yet slightly different dynamic.

Well, today I spent an hour or two going thru business cards that I had collected over the last two-years. You see, I have been traveling the US for about 6-years in a large Motor Coach and I meet many new people each day from where ever I am. Generally, I tour museums, go to state parks, meet local towns people, go to book stores or just hang out, sometimes at the city's main attractions, local restaurants and/or coffee shops. Dayton OH sure has a lot going for it. Everyone likes the Big Air Show and Aviation Conference. Wow, what a show. If you are an aviation buff you should not miss it. In fact our Commander in Chief also visited there for the Air Show event signifying the Wright Bros. Makes me feel comfortable that everyone is Pro-Dayton and that means jobs and a strong economic future too.

Some folks have a pretty dim view of our real estate professionals and attempt to categorize them with used car salesmen, stock brokers or lawyers and similar professional parasites - but I ask is this really a fair assessment?

Well this subprime problem to the economy is akin to the climate cliff of the Doom and Gloom Global Warming Alarmists. There are many factors involved here, even some overseas providing huge amounts of capital to financial markets for home loans. Recently, a Think Tank began discussing the lack of Integrity in the Real Estate Industry and what percentage of blame was deserved where. How often have you walked up to a real estate office and found chewing gum on the sidewalk, spilled chocolate fudge bar remnants or black marks from bicycle tires or skateboarders? I did a quick survey the other day when I went cruising over the hill to the next city and drove by all the real estate offices, 50% looked like that, I took some pictures and then thought the better of posting them here.

Some folks in real estate say that all news is good news and therefore you would assume that these same folks think that all advertising even crappy advertising is better than no advertising. Well those are both mistakes when it comes to building brands, communicating with customers or driving targeted sales to your company.
