If you're looking at properties on a fairly regular basis, I'll guarantee you've heard the following line in the past 6 months:
"We have an appraisal from [insert date here] for $[insert amount here]."

I just found a great article by CNN Money that further made the point I was making in Tuesday’s Tip #13. Appraisals can be determined for any amount. They can also be determined for a number of very good and bad reasons. It is all very much subjective. So again, be smart (2 comments)

Market comparables are subjective. Don’t believe me? Find a bank owned property in a nearby state and call five different realtors or appraisers in the area to ask them what they think the property is worth. Tell them you’re from out of town and trying to figure out what it would (0 comments)
