Single Family Home Sales The Newburyport, MA real estate market report indicates that there were 124 homes sold in 2009 as compared to 144 in 2008. This represents a 14% decrease in the number of homes sold. The average sales price changed from $522799 in 2008 to $437231 in 2009, a 16% decrease in value. The days on market changed -21 % from 148 to 117. Condominium Sales The Newburyport, MA condominium market data indicates that there were 88 condos sold in 2009 as compared to 116 in 2008. Since the NRA has instigated an $8 per day charge for waterfront parking during the weekends, the lots have been consistently only fractionally utilized. Few are willing to pay that fee, and apparently people are finding sufficient parking elsewhere.
When the City Council voted to designate the Titcomb Street as the location for a garage, I wrote that there was no economic justification to invest in a garage. Some of us seem more interested in capturing Federal money to pay for it than using common sense.
