dogs: Take your dog for a walk in Lilburn, GA - 07/23/09 09:16 PM
Dogs in Lilburn, GA, want to walk, run and play... They want to go to the park... Luckily, Ronald Reagan Park at Five Forks has a pair of doggy recreational areas for our sniffy companions. The two areas are set aside for dogs under or over 20 pounds. There is also a dog run that connects the two areas and allows drag racing dogs room to get up to speed. Both areas also feature some obstacles for the dogs to play on, and even a Doggy Water Bar. Dogs in Lilburn have it made... being able to shirk the leash and

dogs: For Whom the Dog Pees... - 05/29/09 10:29 PM
We got a new dog... All of my Twitter followers and Facebook friends and FaceBook fans have known this for a week. They got to see the pics within minutes of picking her up from the shelter (actually, the vet... the shelter sent her over for a little maintenance). But this isn't about social networking and how fast information moves... This is about a cute little dog... Meet Maggie. She is part Beagle and part Dachshund. She is sweet, docile, energetic and loving. The boys really like her and she seems to really like them. She is quite happy hopping up

dogs: We have our first new-hire... - 05/22/09 12:39 AM
Bailey Services/GarageHomesUSA.com has brought onboard a new staffer. This is the first that we have gone outside of the immediate family to find help. Maggie looks to be a great worker. We are confident that she will sniff out the best deals for buyers, scratch out the competition and hunt down the best new technologies for the company. Maggie is relocating from the Athens area to Lilburn. We have already helped her find a suitable home. And she already feel like part of the family. Even the kids have taken to her... and she seems to be quite fond of them

dogs: If only it could have been a donkey... - 01/16/09 09:59 PM
...then we really would have been taught a poignant lesson by these two... It is actually a really heartwarming story. It made me think back to the love given to me by Rollei. For 13 years he was a faithful companion and showed the devotion that only a dog can muster. It is truly a gift. Rollei is the "Uber-Beagle" on the right. He was a Beagle, Basset, Foxhound mix. I think it would be more appropriate to say he was a cross between a nose and a garbage can. On the left was another of my wonderful

dogs: A Father's Day musing - 06/16/08 10:50 PM
I wrote my Father's Day post a while ago, and now that the day has passed, I thought I would write something else. As i was growing up, my father was fond of just calling me "the boy." I often referred to him as "old man." And so, one day I was wandering around a book store and I happened upon a book called "The Old Man and the Boy" which was actually bundled with another book called "The Old Man's Boy Grows Older." These were by Robert Ruark, a writer for Field & Stream, among other things... I had never

dogs: Numero Uno... "Everydog" has his day! - 02/14/08 09:06 AM
I had a thought (always a danger sign, according to my wife!)... Practically every real estate agent in the country is number one... #1... in something. And then, I see in the results of the Westminster Kennel Club Show that for the first time ever (and they had 130 chances before this year), a beagle has won the top honors. It's about time. For over 100 years, beagles have been in the top three most popular dogs. And they are everywhere. The beagle is an "Everydog", that icon of normality. To have a beagle, one doesn't need to be royalty,

dogs: I should just set up cameras - 08/17/07 04:16 PM
Why do I get the feeling I live in America's Funniest Home Videos? Sometimes I think I should just set up a camera to record everything that happens in the house. I could ejoy a good living off of the $10,000 per week and bonus $100,000 year. I would win every time. In this instance, WCC (World's Cutest Child)was freaking out because his crayons were being eaten by Gator Dog. The viscous beast, for her part, just seemed to think they tasted great (or were less filling). Dear Wife was initially freaked out because 20 pounds of dog was consuming 5
