posterous: So, A Real Estate Blog Should Be About Real Estate, Huh? - 09/12/11 03:17 PM
But what about social networking? A few days ago I posted that (in my humble opinion) real estate blogs should be about real estate... not movie reviews, restaurant reviews, not recipes... Real estate. That is what the audience is tuning in for, give them what they want. I gave a few examples of what I see from my traffic patterns, and generally tried to support my opinion. But, real estate agents that are marketing online (should) have a LOT more channels aside from their real estate blog. And I DO believe that there is a place in some of those other

posterous: Lane's Newest Toy... CCotD - 09/01/11 11:43 PM
It is NO secret around here that I am a Car Guy. I guess that would be why I am THE Garage Guy, too. For the last 4+ years one thing I have had NO problem being transparent about is my love of things automotive. Here on this blog, as well as my blog, LaneBailey.com, and my website, GarageHomesUSA.com, I have written numerous posts about cars, garages and cool tools. Recently, I started a blog solely targeted to other car lovers. It is called CoolCaroftheDay.com. And because I seem to be a glutton for punishment, I also created a network of

posterous: Posterous isn't alone... there is Tumblr... - 01/20/10 11:50 PM
We've all been talking about Posterous. It is a seriously cool site. In fact, I have enjoyed using it so much that I am going to start up another Posterous blog to cover personal things going on (like vacation next week). It is a GREAT platform. But it isn't the only platform. In fact, before there was Posterous, there was Tumblr. And they are very similar. Similar enough that many think that Posterous took direct aim at Tumblr when they introduced their platform. There are some things that Posterous has done VERY well... to start with, the emial post capability of

posterous: WordPress and Joomla and Active Rain... oh my! - 01/13/10 12:20 PM
It is obvious to everyone in the real estate business by now that the future of marketing revolves around the internet... and websites. And the "Yester-tech" of a static website isn't going to cut it. The days of "My broker provides me with a website at www.myname.brokerage.com" are gone. And honestly, the days of a site coded purely in html are pretty toasted as well... The new paradigm is what are referred to as Dynamic Websites. Dynamic sites are exemplified by blogs, web magazines and other sites that are continually updated and interactive. Back in "the day", a website was little

posterous: Interested in New Home promotions in and around Gwinnett County, GA? - 12/29/09 11:18 PM
I have just rolled out a system to update YOU when there are promotions in new home communities in and around Gwinnett County, GA. There are days I get 6 or 7 notices from builders and developers, and there are weeks when there aren't any... But, as soon as I get them, I will forward them to my new toy platform. In order to do this, I have set up a new blog here. No car stuff. No fluff. No market reports. Just New Home Community specials. As soon as I get them in my email, I will post them up

posterous: The Great Posterous Experiment... - 11/26/09 08:32 PM
I have been VERY curious about Posterous. I have watched about it, written about it, listened about it and played with it. But I have really "used" it much. I'm a Man with an Excuse Plan... While everyone else is shopping for nifty junk they don't need for people they may not like that much, I will be road tripping with a friend of mine. Atlanta to Hampton, VA on Black Friday... then Hampton to Gaithersburg, MD on Saturday... and Gaithersburg back to Atlanta on Sunday. Pat and I have done a fair number of road trip together, but previously only

posterous: Catch a Wave or Make a Plan? - 11/19/09 08:38 PM
I've talked about it, as have many others... Social Media Plan... But is it even possible? During this morning's Social Media Breakfast - Atlanta, one of our members was talking about social media planning... and something occured to me. Just moments before, we were talking about how social media tools had changed dramatically in just the last few months. So... How can we make a plan for a rapidly changing landscape? Can a surfer make a plan for the wave? Or does the wave unfold and he reads it and responds? It would seem obvious that while a surf has
