Chief Executive magazine's annual Best & Worst States survey measures business conditions in all 50 states, evaluating proximity to markets and resources, regulation, tax policies, workforce quality, education resources, quality of life and infrastructure.The biggest gainers are Washington, which moved up 10 spots, and Arkansas, which rose eight positions. The new rules for short sales force lenders to use standardized forms, procedures and time frames.  The Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives Program (HAFA), also pays the lender $1000 and the borrower $1500 respectively.  Another great feature of the program is that it holds up the forclosure process which helps everyone from the seller to the community to the lender!!  The HAFA program takes effect on April 5, 2010 and runs through the end of 2012.

Federal Homebuyer Tax Credit Isn't Over For Everybody... - 05/13/10 06:51 PM
"The federal homebuyer tax credit has received a lot of coverage over the past several months, but one thing not widely publicized is that the April 30 deadline doesn't apply to everyone. Some members of the armed services get a one-year extension.
That's right, if you were on active duty outside the U.S. for at least 90 days in 2009 or this year through April 30, you have until April 30, 2011 to get a signed contract on a home."
