Eighty homes sold in the month of June, 2011 in the City of Joliet. Of the 80 homes, 36 homes were sold as bank-owned, 9 were sold as short-sales and 35 were regular sales.
Homes ranged from $12,000 to $220,000.
Compared to June, 2010 where 93 homes were sold. Of the 93 homes, 31 homes were sold as bank-owned properties, 11 were sold as short-sales and 51 were regular sales.

Average original list price was $132,403
Average selling price was $114,793
Selling price : List price was 93%
Average market time was 97 days.
So although homes are selling for a lot less on average, market time seems to be a lot less.

The lowest price was and the $11,000 (foreclosure) and the highest was $348,750 (traditional).
Compare these states to July, 2009 when 74 homes closed.
Of the 74 homes that closed July 2009 - 28 were foreclosures and 8 were short sales.
The lowest price was $20,000 (foreclosure) and the highest was $299,900 (traditional).
Interesting that in one year, very similiar in terms of closes and numbers.

Bev Anderson of Divine Providence Home Health will present a ‘Quality of Life' health seminar titled, "It's Too Darn Hot," at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood. The public is welcome to join the residents for this free presentation.
Anderson's program is about dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke which are dangers to older adults during hot weather.
