Among the many factors, guidelines and principles that contribute in one way or another to achieving our desired results, 3 traits for success stand above all others: Commitment This characteristic is about being bound emotionally or intellectually to a course of action that is undertaken to bring about a desirable outcome. The more desirable the outcome, the more passionately we are committed to achieving it. Passionately committed to achieving a specific outcome, we persist in pursuing our goals. We are determined to do whatever it takes to achieve them. This persistence and determination make us tenacious.

A Useful Framework My primary intention in preparing and posting this series was to provide potential authors with a useful framework for self publishing the books that they are currently writing...or are thinking of writing. Every potential author with a book idea is different from all the others. Because if this uniqueness, the series of posts was general in nature. Have you ever dreamed or even thought about writing a book? Lots of people do. I often hear about these dreams and thoughts when potential writers learn that several of my books have been published. Self-publishing my first book about 17 years ago was a huge...and costly...challenge. So was helping a friend self-publish her memoirs...a project that I worked on simultaneously with producing my own book. As challenging as self-publishing was at the time, it was easy as compared to distributing the books. Now, thanks to advances in desk-top publishing and Internet technology, these challenges are less daunting and more manageable.

Once upon a time, I had a pair of cowboy boots. As part of a summer job I found myself in Calgary Alberta for the Calgary Stampede. Like most easterners visiting the stampede, I had get cowboy boots. I bought a pair that looked great, but were beyond uncomfortable...they hurt mt feet..big time! Lookin' Good Everyone around me dutifully admired my boots and reassured me that the discomfort would end sooner or later.
