goals: Do Your 2011 Results Meet YOUR Definition of Achievement? - 11/28/11 08:14 AM
Along with the Christmas season, the arrival of December means that it's time to finalize our business and marketing plans for next year. A key element of planning next year's activities is reviewing this year's results. Looking back at the past 11 months, how satisfied are you with the results that you have achieved to date? If your results met or exceeded expectations, congratulations. Keep doing what you have been doing and 2012 should be as good as, if not better than 2011. What Happened? If however, your results failed to meet expectations, before blasting ahead to 2012, spend some

goals: Real Estate Marketing Success Can Be Learned - 11/10/11 06:22 AM
“Are the most successful real estate agents natural sales people...or can people who don't like to sell learn how to succeed in real estate?” That was one of the first questions that I was asked when I started working in real estate marketing. My immediate response was that virtually any reasonably intelligent and motivated individual can learn how to be successful. After all, the principles and strategies of success can be learned. Although we didn't discuss it, I believe the real intent behind the question was: why do some people seem to achieve their goals

goals: Reaching Your Own Success Address - 03/10/10 06:31 AM
Costa Rica is a wonderful country that offers a wide range of experiences. Among the most interesting and least known features of life here is the Costa Rican approach to addresses. In most parts of the country, there are neither street names nor house numbers. Directions are given by reference to local landmarks. For example, my address—as shown on my rental agreement is: “San Francisco de Dos Rios, 300 mts Sur del Restaurante Tierra Colombia, Fente al Abastecedor don Bosco.” It seems to me that Costa Rican approach to addresses also applies to defining a success address. We simply cannot say,

goals: Celebrate Your Top Success - 03/08/10 06:21 AM
Celebrate your top success...and then build on it to achieve even greater success. Think about some of the successes that you have achieved over the past 5-10 years. It really doesn't matter whether the success was in your work, business or personal life. All that matters is that you achieved your goals and brought about your desired results. As you savor your achievements, remember to take full responsibility for your successes. What Was Your Top Success? Now that you are in a success frame of mind, think about which of your achievements represents your top success. Which single act of

The stronger your core values, the stronger the foundation of your business. 2. An Accurate Current Assessment A realistic

goals: Are Your Goals Big Enough To Drive You? - 09/25/09 05:34 AM
In today's information age, we suffer from an embarrassment of riches. There is so much information available in both electronic and hard copy format about what to do...and how to do it better...in virtually any field or endeavor. There so much information from so many different sources that we risk becoming full-time learners, running our businesses when time permits. The Passion That Drives Us I believe that all of these potentially helpful resources are totally useless if we lack the passion that drives us to achieve the outcomes that we really desire. Anyone can be taught the tools of the

goals: Dream Big...Or Stay Home - 09/23/09 05:07 AM
We all need to dream big. Turning our big dreams into reality requires setting goals that are based on our dreams. Then we must follow a path that will lead us to these goals. One Step At A Time Climbing a mountain by staring up at the top of it makes the task of achieving that goal appear overwhelming and impossible. However, by focusing on taking one step at a time we can get to the top. While it's important to keep our goals firmly set in our minds, our primary focus should be on navigating the path that will

goals: The Ideal Solution For The Twin Curse Of Transaction-itis & Short Attention Span - 08/11/09 07:01 AM
Yesterday in response to my comment about newsletters, Andrea Swiedler said " ...I bought one before [a newsletter] and loved it I always had CMA requests after they went out, it was pretty good! Wonder why I don't do that anymore...” While there is no way of my knowing specifically why Andrea does not buy newsletters any more, I can offer a suggestion as to why many sales people do not repeat seemingly productive activities. Many sales people, including real estate agents suffer from the twin curse of transaction-itis and short attention span. Transaction-itis This condition results in sales

goals: 3 Ways To Avoid Creating Problems For Yourself - 07/31/09 06:17 AM
In order to clear our to-do lists and achieve the results we seek, we often create more problems than we solve...or make some problems worse. I know this happens...I've done it...too many times. Confirming that experience is indeed the best teacher, I offer 3 three experienced-based suggestions to minimize your inconvenience from self-created problems. 1. Think about what you are doing Sometimes we have to perform tasks that seem like no-brainers. This is particularly true of filling the blanks on forms. Sometimes the answer is so obvious that we don't need to think about it. We automatically drop the

goals: Develop Your Plan...Then Trust The Process As You Implement It - 07/29/09 06:25 AM
As both a fervent planner and committed writer, I try to expect the best, plan for the worst, and be open to surprises. A strong believer in the importance of planning, I firmly believe that whatever can be planned should be planned. Much and all as I dislike clichés, I recognize the validity of comments like: If you fail to plan, you plan to fail If you don't have your own plan, you are part of some one else's plan Wishing consumes as much energy as planning Steering The Process As a writer, I have

goals: A Vision Board Will Help You Decide Actions To Take & Things To Keep - 04/07/09 07:06 AM
To work smarter..take those actions...and hang on to the items...that best relate to images on your vision board. About a month ago, I learned about the vision board concept ...and decided to try it. My vision board is now complete. I have written about developing this board on my website. Creating this board was a very effective and positive learning experience. Letting Go In effect, creating the board resulted in replacing the contents of a very cluttered cork board with images of results I want to achieve...my goals. Although I have always enjoyed getting rid of outdated and no-longer useful
