How many open houses are a waste of time for Realtors®? Locked Into The Way Things Have Always Been Done Last week, I had a conversation with an acquaintance who is a business analyst. When we were chatting about real estate marketing, he said something to the effect that most agents are locked into doing things the way they have always been done. As examples, he offered print advertising and open houses. his comment in response to yesterday's blog, Heath Coker advised that Century 21 had stopped its television advertising, switching to on line ads instead. An illustration of how a major real estate company is changing its marketing practices, it's a good example for individual agents to follow. Print adverting is one marketing practices that every agent should review for it's cost effectiveness. Certainly in their prime, newspapers, magazines and catalogs have been effective marketing tools for real estate agents. But like bread that’s gone stale, their time has past.
