Your Guide to New Years Eve Activities and Fireworks in Wasilla, Palmer and Houston Alaska Fireworks used to be off limits in Palmer and Wasilla but they are now legal with a few common sense guidelines. I remember growing up in Wasilla and going with friends to Houston to buy fireworks that were not legal to shoot off when we got back home. We (if I remember correctly) could shoot them off in Houston only but it was always a bit confusing. Thankfully, it is a little better spelled out now.
