Today I went to the gym for the first time in a few weeks and ran into one of the owners Jeff and as we were talking I realized that I have not be coming around as much as I should.   I used to be a serious gym rat but with real estate picking up and showing lots of homes really keeps you busy!

When I leave the fitness center I always feel great!  There is nothing like getting on the stepper/treadmill for 30 minutes and lifting some weights.  I am energized every time!

The Mount Cuba Astronomical Observatory is located just a few miles North of the City limits of Wilmington close to the Hoopes Reservoir. 

It is the only observatory in Delaware that is open to the general public usually on selected Monday nights.  They only allow adults and children in the 5th grade or above and you must make reservations to attend the program.  302-654-6407

Delaware Schools started giving out the H1N1 Vaccine this week at many Delaware schools.

The Elementary School students will be getting the nasal spray while the older students will get the shots in the coming weeks.  Those who wish for their children to receive the shots must sign a consent form prior to the vaccine being given.

It would be a great idea to check with your childs school to see when the vaccine will be available.

NEW  Homebuyer Tax Credit!  Here is the skinny:

•1.       Tax Credit Extended to April 30, 2010.

•2.       Sales contract must be binding by April 30^th and settlement must occur prior to July 1, 2010.

•3.       Income limit qualification has increased to $125,000 for single and $225,000 for married persons.

But wait...  There's more:

•4.       A new Tax Credit of $6,500 was added for homeowners who do not qualify as first timers!

•5.       Must have used the home sold or being sold as a principal residence consecutively for 5 of the previous 8 years.

Are you working with a borrower who is currently serving in the Armed forces?  If the military personnel is/was stationed outside the United States for 90 days or more, they receive a separate extension.

•6.       Service period must have occurred between January 1, 2009 and May 1^st 2010.

•7.       The time line is extended ONE YEAR  -

•a.       May 1^st, 2011 for a binding contract.

•b.      July 1, 2011 settlement date.

Chrysler is seeking the approval of the Federal bankruptcy court to sell the now closed auto plant in Newark Delaware.

According to (Reuters) the University of Delaware plans to purchase the 270 Acre plant for $24.25 million.

So what will the University of Delaware do with a extra 270 acres?  The last news report I read said they were planning on using some of the land for medical research but the rumor around town is a new football stadium may be in the works also.
