University of Delaware updated plans for Chrysler plant location
Scott Douglas the University of Delawares executive vice president and treasurer said at a April 27th meeting of the Greater Newark Network "Successful universities are really engines of economic development"
The Universiy of Delaware plans to have commercial, educational buildings and residential areas on the 272 acre site that used to house the Chrysler plant in Southern Newark.
The plans include up to 10 million square feet of academic buildings that includes a 5 story building to make better use of the space.

The Delaware Department of Transportation will conclude its study next month on the possibility of moving its train station.
One possible site is the now closed Chrysler Plant owned by the University of Delaware. That plan is supported by the school and Newark officials according to Delawareonline.com. Officials are hoping the new station could be an expanded part of Maryland's MARC service along with a new route connecting Wilmington and Dover.

Over the weekend I had the chance to attend a birthday party at the Fred Rust Ice Arena on the University of Delaware Campus. This arena along with a couple more in the area are home to many World Class skaters who come to train with the best coaches in the sport.
We didnt see anyone famous but we sure had a blast!
There was also a visit from this guy!
The prices were reasonable and the crowd was friendly, directions below.

University of Delaware Head Coach K.C. Keeler and Delaware State University Al Lavan participated in a cook off for charity Monday in Dover.
The event will raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic IMPACT Delaware Tobacco Prevention Coalition.
It was a great time for all as the event was held in front of a crowd of students and players. Keeler (UofD) cooked Blue Hen Chicken and Lavan (DSU) made a tasty beef chili.
