But not Texas hot, is what I would add. This week one of my tasks is to pump up an Open House I have scheduled for this weekend. I have my websites all set with the information. I have postcards made and two thirds of them are already handed out. Yes, you heard me correctly. I walked the farm nei...

I was reading some information from various professionals about open houses because I am doing one this weekend. I don’t do a lot of Open Houses, I have a theory about them, but more on that later. I got an email from one of my clients yesterday instructing me to lower the price on their house. I called them up right away to discuss the matter. I didn’t think lowering the price was a good idea. The house is in great shape. We had put it on the market at a price that was consistent with the ...

I was struck while reading about this weekend’s Football Hall of Fame ceremonies that Emmitt Smith went into Jerry Jones’s office (The player/the Owner-GM) and handed him a slip of paper on the first day. That paper outlined his goals for his career. He planned to be the leading rusher in footba...

Finding great people in Dallas is not a problem; there are plenty of them. Finding people who are innovative and focused on being the best is a bit trickier. I started The Best of Big D interviews when I arrived here because I wanted to get to know people who are going above and beyond in deliver...
