The Sherwood Saturday Marketis open every Saturday from May 5th through September 29th, 2007. Their operating hours are 9am-1pm. Located at the City of Sherwood-City Hall along Pedestrian Walkway, 22560 SW Pine Street, Sherwood, Or. 97140 ***Note: On June 9th, the market will be closed due to the popular "Cruis'in Sherwood" car show.***
While not the biggest Saturday Market in the area, it is a lot of fun and is a nice get-away for the day.

While the Bond market got what it wanted as the Core Consumer Price Index showed tame consumer inflation. The Core CPI for April was reported up 0.2% which lowered the year over year Core rate to a better than expected 2.3% and closer to the Fed's target zone of 1 to 2%. However, the Mortgage Backed Securities, which long term mortgage rates are based on, are only modestly higher and unable to recover losses from yesterday. More importantly, Bonds are still below the 200-day Moving Average and have failed to rally back above it after this morning's good news on inflation. … (0 comments)

With all the doom and gloom we're hearing about the economy, it's often helpful to take a look at info as it relates to our local markets. As you will see, Washington County, Oregon ranks lowest in the state of Oregon and Sherwood, Oregon is lowest in the county.
In addition, Oregon's wages are increasing slightly ahead of the nation, and Washington County's slightly ahead of the state.
Mortgage Rates are still at all time lows. The "par" rate for a 30 year fixed conforming loan with good credit and an 80% loan-to-value is 5.875%

Sherwood Oregon voters will be deciding soon whether or not to annex Area 59, an 80 acre area just north of town into the city. While there will be some residential use, the main beneficiary will be the school district. The plans are for the Sherwood School District to purchase 29 acres and build a new elementary school and middle school. Money would come from a $98 million bond that we approved last November.

Today is my 5 year anniversary. It's amazing to reflect on all of the changes that have taken place. It is both of our first, and only, marriages and we are both in our 40's. 6 years ago I wasn't married, didn't have a kid, worked part-time in ministry, lived with a bunch of guys in what Portland calls the "hood" and really didn't see any chance of change. But God had other plans. Yeahhhh.

The Internet is a great source of information and the savvy consumer can get a great deal in many cases. Often, at prices that your local business cannot compete against. This is especially true with commodities, like consumer electronics, books, and clothes... In some cases service is good, other times it is non-existent.

Sherwood, Oregon has been pegged to be the southern anchor of Washington counity's tourism drive. If approved, the scenic drive will start near Helvetia and travel for approximately 60 miles. It will be near 15 of the 18 wineries in Washington County. It will be marked by signs and have an accompanying map.
Even if you don't like wine, the drive is beautiful and the grounds of the wineries are often breath-taking.

I'm a fairly recent addition to Sherwood and am proud to say that I love living here. I grew up in a small town in Southern Oregon and have spent over 15 years in Seattle and Portland. So I know big cities and little ones. Sherwood has the benefits of a small town with the proximity to Oregon's largest city.
