www.lasvegasmtg.com report: Remembering our Las Vegas Nevada Veterans on Memorial Day is more then an excuse to have an extra day off. It is a time to remember those that have sacrificed so much for the freedoms we take for granted. Without their sacrifices the veterans and their families have made what would America be today? Most Americans are removed from the impact that the families experience daily when their loved ones are separated for long periods of time in war time or deployed in foreign countries.

National and Las Vegas Nevada Veteran Facts

1. GI Bill was enacted on June 22, 1944. Originally set to expire in 1956 it has been successfully re-instated without any break in coverage.
2. Since 1944 over 23.4 million GI's are eligible for benefits from the GI bill.
3. 1973 the draft was replaced with an all volunteer military.
4. 339,000 active and retired veterans reside in Nevada.
5. Less then 10% of eligible veterans use their Las Vegas Nevada VA Home Loans.
