blogging: Just had to share - 10/25/09 03:45 PM
Everyone blogs for different reasons. Sometimes its for strictly informational purposes, other times to share a personal experience or observation. Visitors often comment for the same reasons. I recently received a comment on our First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit post that I would like to share: Thank you On October 18th, 2009 Anonymous (not verified) says: I would like to say. Thank you Jacqulyn Richey for placing this post up for us to read and reply to. This is one of the most imformative sites I've found. Its things like this, a simple comment that makes its all worthwhile. That

blogging: Which CMS do you prefer? - 06/15/08 10:40 PM
With so many real estate agents jumping on the blog bandwagon, the number of platforms to pick from keeps growing. But which platform is right for you? Really most of them come down to personal preference and your own level of technical knowledge. Let's take a look at some of the more popular content management systems out there. Blogger. Everyone has heard of it and there are a ton of real estate blogs using this platform, like this self-hosted Arizona Real Estate News blog and there are some being hosted for free by blogger, as this Las Vegas Homes Blog is.

blogging: Some of the best posts never read - 08/15/07 05:45 PM
Well, here they are. Sadly, I didn't receive as many submissions as last time around. I've mixed up the posts quite a bit, some were picked because of their subject matter (and will hopefully spark some debate) others because of just how well written they were. http://activerain.com/blogsview/167378/Working-Across-The-Miles http://activerain.com/blogsview/168593/Window-Energy-Efficiency http://activerain.com/blogsview/168530/Mortgage-Meltdown-what-is http://activerain.com/blogsview/168528/Discount-Listings-Bait-Swap http://activerain.com/blogsview/168526/LENDING-MARKET-AND-THE http://activerain.com/blogsview/168499/Top-Ten-Reasons-to http://activerain.com/blogsview/168477/The-Baby-The-Bath If you have any that I have missed, please email me the link for inclusion in the next series. -Charles

blogging: More of the best posts never read - 08/08/07 04:44 PM
As promised, I'll be putting up another list of some of the best posts never read. If you have some posts that you put a lot of time and effort into that were just overlooked here on AR, please send me the url of the post. I'll be picking out my favorites and putting them in a post. Hopefully, the post will generate some reads to your individual posts and perhaps be featured to increase traffic. The deadline for submitting your posts will be this Sunday evening. Additional requests will be held for the next post of this type. Thanks. -

blogging: Spam rears its ugly head again - 06/26/07 07:42 PM
It seems these things come in cycles. You open your email up and watch as all of your contacts for today start appearing. Ho, what's this? Contacts from AR. Potential clients? Investors wanting to spend millions in your market? Confused, scared home buyers needing expert guidance and assistance? Ah, no....ads for a motorforum and cheap pills.... That was case this morning. However, I have to give kudos to AR for taking swift action. By the time I was ready to delete and report the offending posts, they were already taken care of. Considering the size of this site now, its very

blogging: Blogs Ogog - 06/20/07 10:08 PM
I'm always looking for places to promote my site and blog. I came across one that I hadn't heard of before, ogog.org. Its run by a non-profit organization, which in itself makes it unique. It looks like its brand new, without a lot of users (yet). You have to have an openid account to sign up. So it will take you a little bit of time to sign up, but both sites are FREE. So, of course, I signed up at both places: http://lasvegasrealestate.myopenid.com/ here is my OgOg profile. I don't know if the site will make it, but I have found

blogging: Looking for a guest blogger? - 04/26/07 07:02 PM
Lately I've been doing more posts on different blogs. My latest piece was on the evolution of the blog on rsspieces. In turn that piece inspired our on Toby Barnett to throw in his own two cents on the subject on the Seattle PI blog. Toby's post titled real estate websites in the latest post there. He adds his own insights and experiences and is worth the read. -Charles

blogging: Guest blogger - 04/09/07 05:15 PM
Recognition can be a wonderful thing, not to mention opening doors of opportunities. I had been talking to Mary McKnight of Rsspieces.com and eventually the conversation turned to the subject of guest bloggers. (if you haven't checked out her site, I highly recommend it). I was fortunate enough to be offered a guest spot and just put up my first post there titled the websites of future. I'd like to thank Mary for the opportunity to expand my blogging skills (or lack thereof!) into another arena. The post ran really long so I've broken it up into a few posts. I'll be

blogging: Where are they now? - 10/05/06 02:45 AM
I was looking back through some of the old blog posts and it occurred to me that some of the most active members 3 months ago are now MIA. Where are Sharon and Roxanne some of my most faithful blog readers? Or Tim Fennell and Linda Slocum who both held a top position on the network? Is the Active Rain love affair over so soon for some? Tell me it isn't so! -Charles
