Las Vegas is fortunate enough to be home to many wonderful master planned communities. From the massive planned community of Summerlin, to many smaller communities around the valley Las Vegas has a community for everyone. A great example would be the community of Coronado Ranch. Most Coronado Ranch homes are two story, with some single story and three story homes available.

Okay, well not exactly Middle Earth. Following the huge success of trilogy films, Engle homes announced one of their communities in Mountain's Edge would be named Rivendell, after the home of the elves. The street names are all taken from Tolkien's books as well.
The gated community features three floor plans of larger, single story homes up to just over 3,000 square feet. Engles homes also has a townhome community at Mountain's edge, Beacon Hill. Yesterday I had some business downtown so on the way back I decided to stop by Newport Lofts since construction was just completed not to long ago. I met with the onsite agent who gave me the guided tour. The first floor still has some construction going on, as their first retail tenant is moving into the building. Residents have already starting moving in as well. Parking is located on floors 2 through 6 and the entrance is around the corner of the building, just off camera.

With the prices of homes still out of reach for some seniors, there is a great alternative to buying a condominium or renting, River Mountain Mobile Estates. This small, well maintained community of manufactured homes is located in the city of Henderson in the southeast.
While the community does not have any amenities per say, the association fees are very low ($23) and the community has been very well maintained. More importantly, the home owners own the land their manufacturered home resides on! The community is also age restricted.

KB Home has been busy at Chaco Canyon in Mountains Edge! Last Friday my husband and I went out to Mountains Edge to see how construction was going. Chaco Canyon is at the edge of the development and is very secluded at the moment. Currently a small section of Chaco Canyon has been completed and residents have already moved in and are enjoying the many Mountains Edge amenities. Construction is ongoing in the rest of the community and is scheduled to be completed next year.

Mountain's Edge is a huge master planned community in Las Vegas. The entire project will cover over 3,000 acres with over 600 acres set aside for parks and public facilities. The community will have historical as well as cultural tie-ins and will old world themed. There are 20 different builders involved in the project, giving each neighborhood its own unique feel. Community amenities include several themed parks, a performing arts center, a skate park, tennis complex as well as other sports facilities. Construction has started on several neighborhoods thoroughout the project.
