Construction at Mountain's Edge is in full swing. Last month was the grand opening of the crown jewel of the park system in Mountain's Edge, Exploration Park. Summer Trail is located in the south end of Mountain's Edge, just off of Buffalo. Construction at the community is underway and residents have a choice of three floor plans. All homes in Summer Trail are Energy Star certified.

energy star: Is Energy Star becoming the standard? - 08/01/06 07:16 PM
As little as three years ago, only a handful of home builders in Las Vegas built 100% energy star certified homes. Another couple builders had it as an option if the customer wanted it. Today, almost every new home and condo community is Energy Star certified.  For those that are environmentally or cost conscious, its a welcome change. The US Department of Energy released figures several years ago that on average, energy star homes saved home owners an estimated $6 billion in energy costs.  With the rising price of power, I'm sure that number is significantly higher today.  Has anyone else … (0 comments)

energy star: Green Building - 07/31/06 03:41 PM
Southern Nevada is getting its first "Green" building.  It will be a mixed use condo building located in the city of Henderson.  It will feature solar power collectors on the roof, Heat Mirror insulated glass, tankless water heaters, low wattage lights, energy star rated appliances, natural insulation and many other energy saving features. The builder is a LEED member (Leadership in Energy Efficient Design) and has several projects in Brussels and different parts of Russia.  When complete, Green Valley Lofts will house 44 residential condos.
