Furniture & Appliance Bulk Trash Collection
In late August, Frederick County mailed out vouchers to non-municipal county residents for its second annual Residential Bilk Program.
The residents listed on the voucher may use the voucher one time to bring a maximum of four (4) bulk residential items, such as furniture, to the Frederick County Landfill at no charge.
The expiration date is listed on the voucher.
Residents are responsible for transporting their items to the Reich;s Ford Road Sanitary Landfill. However, the resident may assign the voucher to another party, such as a commercial trash hauler, by completing the appropriate area of the form.
Alternatively, you may give the card to a friend or neighbor to bring bulk furniture items to the landfill on your behalf.

The voucher has no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash, credit or used to pay existing landfill charges.

Many of you that live in the New Market and Lake Linganore area do so because of the beautiful countryside and farm views. We all end up driving to a local grocery store or into Frederick to buy produce. This is a real shame since we should be able to obtain "Local" organic produce from the local area farmers. Finally a Farmers Market has come to our area and I for one hope it is here to stay.
Farmers Market
Where: Coldstream Pool Parking Area
Lake Linganore
When: Tuesday Evenings 4:00 -7:00 PM
We all know that "Sweet Corn" is in season , so now is the time to indulge before the colder weather sets in.
Also let's not forget the delicious fruits that we can pack in the kids lunches for school. These fruits are a healthier alternative to those "Fruit Roll Ups" that have become the favorite with the youngsters. They also taste great mixed in any jello for a refreshing fruit cup in the lunchbox as well.
