Mountain Creek is an Intrawest company located in Vernon, NJ located just 47 miles from NYC. Although ski season does not arrive until mid December ski passes are available now at discounted rates.
Mountain Creek has 3 mountains with more than 60 acres of jibs, jumps and trails for snowboarders in the terrain parks. Ski can ski more than 40 trails across the three mountains. Ski check and discounts are available to passholders at other Intrawest resorts.

The Central Labor Union celebrated the first Labor Day holiday Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1882, in New York City. 1894 Congress passed an act making the first Monday in September of each year a legal holiday in the District of Columbia and the territories.
Although Labor Day is meant as a celebration of the labor movement and all of its achievements, for me it has come to announce the end of summer  :(. It is my favorite time of year and it is the last final horrah and as the last, long summer weekend before Fall.
