I have 3 kids; 15, 10, & 8. A couple of months ago I bought these really great Pocket Notebooks. They have my name, company, website, phone numbers and website listed on them. They also have this really great slogan that says, "List With Me And Start Packing!" (Get it, notebook, make lists, list with me..lol) and they close with a pen holding them shut. Anyway, my youngest daughter thought they were the neatest thing she has ever seen and begged me to let her take some to school to give to her teachers. Of course, I couldn't deny her. Clarksville will be commemorating the National Day of Prayer from 6 a. m. to 6 p. m. Thursday at the Riverview Inn Ballroom, just off of Riverside Drive. There will be more than 40 local pastors leading 15 minute prayer segments. At noon local officials will congregate to pray for our national leaders and our country's soldiers. For those of us who live here we see it everyday; new homes, new subdivisions, new stores being built, roads being expanded. Now we are anticipating the opening of a new Multi-Purpose Event Center. Rivers & Spires Festival April 19-21, 2007For the past five years Clarksville has been hosting the annual Rivers & Spires Festival in Historic Downtown Clarksville. Founding
The area around Clarksville was first surveyed by Thomas Hutchins in 1768. He identified Red Paint Hill, a rock bluff at the confluence of the Cumberland and Red Rivers, as a navigational landmark. In the years between 1771 and 1775, John Montgomery, the namesake of the county, along with Kasper Mansker visited the area while on a hunting expedition. That same year, the land between the Ohio and the Cumberland was purchased by Richard Henderson from the Cherokee Indians for horses, guns, and alcohol.
