The Classic - "Why are You Hitting Yourself" - 01/26/10 07:02 AM
I was lucky enough to grow up with an older brother and while he was really never hurtful or mean he loved the "why are you hitting yourself" game. That classic really wasn't about pain. The point was annoyance and control. My brother and I now live quite far away from each other but I think I play the "hitting myself" game pretty well without him around. Over and over, I can annoy myself and time and time again I can lose sight of what I can and can't control. So, I gotta wake up and smell the coffee! I'm (4 comments)
Twenty One Things Your Burglar Won't Tell You - 01/25/10 09:34 AM
1. Of course I look familiar. I was here just last week cleaning your carpets, painting your shutters, or delivering your new refrigerator.2. Hey, thanks for letting me use the bathroom when I was working in your yard last week. While I was in there, I unlatched the back window to make my return a little easier. 3. Love those flowers. Okay, seriously, other than a home being priced right what is the most important aspect of a listing?
As far as I’m concerned the answer is how well it shows. A home that is lived in (7 comments)
You can't put toothpaste back in the dispenser - 01/12/10 06:54 AM
We've all said the wrong thing at sometime in our lives and we all hate it! Unfortunately once said - it's out there. You can minimize it or you can correct it or you can laugh about it or if needed you can apologize. Ever say something that was such a waste of opening your mouth you just have to laugh? How about something as simple as when you are showing a home, you come to a bathroom, and you turn to your buyer and announce "and this is the bathroom". I once did this and the buyer and I (10 comments)
Blood, Sweat and Tears - 01/05/10 11:38 AM
Entering my sixth year as a Realtor, I look back at the days before getting my license and the ideals I had with what a career in Real Estate would bring...boy 20/20 vision is never around when you need it. I enjoy the HGTV shows and I'm really pleased more of them are showing the hard times of our market vs. the idea that a can of paint will easily bring you more money than your neighbor. With that said though, Blood and Tears were not on my radar....Sweat - sure - I live in the South plus between rushing, waiting, (2 comments)
