I am writing this because I don't understand why having a commitment date met is such an issue! I have a home listed that is under contract and the loan commitment date is April 25th. I was getting concerned because as of last Friday the appraiser hasn't called me to set-up an appointment. I called the loan officer to make sure the appraisal had been ordered. He had said he would talk to the processor and give me a call back.

When the Seller accepts your contract to purchase, there is still more work to be done to assure a smooth closing on your new home.
Here are some of my responsibilities as a professional Realtor from contract to closing:
-Deliver earnest money and all signed documents to required parties which include: lender, attorney and listing agent.
-Follow up with all parties to the transaction during attorney review period.

...what your Grandma told you? Every year time seems to speed-up.
I am 41 (may I add...a young 41, almost 42) and I am the mother of two beautiful children. My son is finishing up his Junior year in High School and starting to prepare for college. When I look at my children I can't believe how quickly the time has passed. It seems as if it was just yesterday that I was wheeling one of them in a buggy and the other one was riding around on his Big Wheel watching "Barney".
