I write this with a heavy heart. I also write this in awe of a wonderful life. Lewis McGinty Born May 5,1918 and departed this life on Thursday, February 12, 2009. 90 years of service to our lord and now he is rewarded with being received into the kingdom of heaven.
I will try and sheed no more tears and think of you as the happy headstrong man that you have always been. A pillar of rock for our family. I will miss you!

Actually Grey is my Step Father of 34 years. He has always been a kind and gentle man with a great Faith in his makings. They just dont make them like they use to.
We got the news 3 weeks ago that he had Cancer in his liver and gallbladder. And now I must say we need your prayers. He is declining rapidly. I envy him of his time to meet our lord. I truly feel we are the ones dying and he is the one that will be living!

2 weeks ago the new smoking ban law went into effect for all of Lexington County SC and last night the council retreated on its decision. There must have been a myriad of complaints form local bar and restaurant owners voiced during the last 2 week. I have talked with several business owners that have told me they have already seen a decline in revenue form the councils actions. Particularly the Bar's restaurant combination owners. Its official and Its all up to Mark Sanford.
The bill heads to Gov. Mark Sanford, who indicated he may veto portions of the bill that limit the state's Medicaid program and sets aside money for regional economic development groups. Mark is a man that knows our states needy family's need these programs to survive so Im not looking at much that will sway him there. Mark Sanford has until Oct. 30 to veto portions of the budget with which he disagrees. The Legislature will return on Halloween to vote on his vetoes.

Because of recent economic data our States budget has to be cut by more than 250 Million in the new state budget.
How our South Carolina law makers will deal with the states funding shortfalls,
Ordering Cuts, all South Carolina State agencies outside of Medicaid, K-12 education and the prison system will slash budgets from 3 percent to 15 percent.
Redirecting more money, $18 million in the endowed chairs program - used to fund research and the competitive grants program - would go for other state more pressing needs.

Get Organized- Make a list of item you will need well in advance and along the way. That will eliminate those last minute rushes to the store.
Fear Factor- When choosing a theme consider the age of the guests before determining how spooky things will be. For little ones you don't want scary or spooky.
Calling all ghosts- Buy pre made invitations. Then spice them up with colored envelope's and stickers. Some people fret way to much over invitations.

During Halloween its hard to turn the corner and not see a pumpkin. They are so fun to carve for decoration but on the inside they hold a fantastic crunchy treat.
Pumpkin seeds are often discarded when the jack-o-lantern is carved. But with a little know how a tasty and healthy snack can be created. The kids look forward to this annual tradition at my house. They enjoy the goopy task of collecting the seeds for the treat.

The new 5 Million Dollar stadium finally located on the Lexington High Schools grounds started off with a bang!
A beautiful summer evening with cool temperatures.
A fun-filled pregame party with a little tailgating action.
Statewide television coverage for my beloved Wildcats.
And on the first play in the stadium's history, a Wildcat player christened the field by returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown on the way to a resounding victory against a neighboring rival of Batesburg-Leesville. What a way to start the new season and traditions.
