firsttime homebuyers: Homebuyers Tax Credit Extension is only for closing qualified purchases - 06/20/10 02:37 AM
This week, the Senate approved an extension of the deadline to close otherwise-qualified home purchases, from June 30 until September 30.  This move would give extra time for buyers who are unable to close by June 30, due to short-sale delays and the volume of loan  application already in progress.  It is estimated that the extension would benefit approximately 180,000 purchasers whose lenders are unable to complete their transactions by the deadline. 
I hope that we will see approval by the House of Representatives early this week.  This is one of those rare occasions when the government is acting sensibly and in the best interests of people … (1 comments)
