Two different topics that go together. I have been working very hard on increasing my on-line image. I have updated websites, and worked hard to grow my twitter and Facebook following. I really don't jive with twitter like I do with Facebook, but it is great for networking and finding folks you might not ever find any other way. I went up from 14 followers yesterday to 50 today. I did this by clicking on some local media twitter people that I follow and clicking on people that follow them...then they reciprocate. Pretty cool. So, maybe I'll make new friends.

It is official. I received my notice that I passed and was approved to pronounce that I am now certified to be a Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource. I've been studying up on real estate investment clubs because there are radio shows, TV shows, even that GET Motivated thing, about real estate investing.
There are not enough rental properties out there to meet demand right now. Especially in the $650-850/month price range. Lots of people have lost their house or just gone through a divorce and need a house to rent. This current market is a landlord's dream. In my office we get more calls on rentals than on any other type of property.

So, I was at a Houston Association of Realtorsworkshop about foreclosures and short sales for my SFR certification a couple of weeks ago. I had the inside seat by the wall. It was too cramped to get up and leave, and my cell phone would not quit ringing, well vibrating. As soon as we got a break, I checked my messages.

I actually went and ate lunch with just my husband today. We haven't done that in a very long time.
We went to Luby's. in Baytown. I use to hate Luby's when I was a kid. I thought it was for old people. Now it is one of my favorite places to go. (Maybe I'm getting old?) If you are not from Texas, you may not know Luby's. It is a cafeteria that makes all of it's offerings from scratch every day. They serve a wide variety of entrees and veggies. This was a slow Real Estate Weekend. I showed 1 house on Saturday to a family with 9 children and one on the way. They were looking for a large house with a small price. I really do not think that the house I showed them is the best house for them. I hate to say this. The house is my company's listing. It is a nice house. It has a big yard. But the backyard neighbors are not very good for children. There is a factory behind the property that throws up lots of light at night and is noisy.
