The average price of homes on Cape Cod - 01/31/09 01:04 PM
I read in the Cape Cod Times the other day that the median price for homes on the Cape is down to $310,000.  I believe a year ago, it was reported to be $324,000 and two years ago it was about $365,000.  Now is a great time to buy because we are closer to the bottom, rates are the lowest they have been in 30 years and there is plenty of houses to chose from.  I have had alot of showings start to pick up into 2009 and I think buyers are getting the message.  Times like this do not last … (0 comments)

Giving up Caffeine - 01/31/09 01:00 PM
You won't believe it.  I did it.  I gave up all caffeine in my diet.  Not any easy task after drinking it for close to 30 years.  The first 5 days with the migraine headache that would not go away.  Irritable beyond explanation.  People asked me why I did it?  The answer. It was time.  I would go to bed and not fall asleep easily.  Tossing and turning only to wake up and need 3 cups of coffee to start my day.  My heart would palpitate for no reason.  If I went more than 6 hours without a stimulant I would … (0 comments)

Jason Veritek Is Back - 01/31/09 12:41 PM
I blogged about the Patriots the other day only to get off on a tangent about the Red Sox.  Yes, Jason Veritek is back with the Red Sox.  What a relief.  It is sad to say that in a few more years he is bound to retire from baseball all together.  I think most of the pitchers are greatful for his return.  Many our new pithchers and need the confidence of the catcher behind home plate.  The fans are relieved as well.  It is nice to see change but the tried and true of our captain will keep the fans coming back.  … (0 comments)

Have You Ever Tried To Delete a Blog Entry - 01/31/09 12:36 PM
I decided it was time to remove a blog entry from my list and it cost me 200 points.  All it said was  "are you sure you want to delete this entry"  It did not say Do you "permantly" want to delete this posto.  It did not say tha if you were to delete this post (after being posted for 3 months) that it was going to cost you 200 points.

So beware - once you delete a post = whether it is right away or months from now - the points go away too.

Good Luck

Super Bowl Sunday - 01/30/09 02:05 PM
It's finally here.  The big match up in football.  It seems a little anticlimatic knowing that the Patriots are not playing.  In fact, other than here stories about each of the quarterbacks and who deserves it more, there really isn't much hype in New England about it.
I guess playing in Tampa will be exciting.  Lord knows we northerners could use a break from this cold weather.  It would be great to go to the beach and get in the game down in Florida.   The reality of it all here in New England is that we are more concerned if the … (0 comments)

Peanut Butter Epidemic - 01/30/09 01:41 PM
You know, I did not get caught up in the contaminated peanut butter story,  I figured, I haven't had a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a long time.  I won't be bothered by this story.  Well, was I ever wrong,  Now I am getting inundated with email from friends telling me what to look out for.  Yes, I do have peanut butter Cliff bars in my house (bad) but the girl scout cookies I ordered are safe (good).  The dog food treats are going in the trash (bad) along with some of the ice cream (bad).  The bakery cookies … (0 comments)

Happy Ground Hogs Day!! - 01/30/09 01:34 PM
Yes, it is upon us, the infamous Ground Hogs Day!! I love this day as it marks for me the middle of winter, the half way point, turning the corner towards Spring.  Do we care that the Ground Hog sess its shadow.  To me it doesn't because even if it does, we are only looking at 6 more weeks of winter.  I can do six more weeks of winter.  If you think about it, almost six weeks ago, it was Christmas.  Now that seems like yesterday.  I say, let the Ground Hog sleep in and don't wake him.  We don't need … (0 comments)

It's Tax Season Again !!!! - 01/30/09 01:26 PM
Well as a real estate agent that runs with the other self employed people out there - tax season means preparing the Schedule C for the IRS.  What I find remarkable is that no matter how much I earn in commissions from year to year is that the expenses seem to only get bigger.  I think each year I find a new gadget that I have to have in my arsenal.  Last year it was the GPS navigation system which I might add, how did I get by without it all those years!!  In addition, I love the blackberry phone but … (0 comments)

Now what? - 01/21/09 12:43 PM
Well yesterday marked the swearing in of the 44th President of the United States!!  It was amazing to see so many (1.5M) people brave the cold weather and take public transportation to see the event unfold.  So now what?  The dancing and the parties are over - What can we expect this Spring to help us move forward.
How about those stimulus packages?  Has anyone heard what is being proposed for the real estate market?  Are we going to see more tax incentives, those that go beyond the first time home buyer?  Are buyers waiting for more rate reductions?
