I just want to extend my thoughts and prayers to the families of the tragic event of yesterday's devastating tornado in Iowa at a boy scout camp. I cannot imagine what those families are going through. Thank God for the many people and rescue workers involved in getting help.

I know this is a real estate blog site, but as I believe you will attest too, our biggest asset are the people we work with and many of our clients are families with children.

Take time today and call a past client with children and just tell then you were thinking of them.

God Bless!

Typically I am not one to toot my own horn, however I feel this most recent distiction deserves a little fan fare. HGTV is coming to the Sioux Falls area with their popular TV show "My Home is Worth What". Producers of the show interviewed several possible REALTORS in the area to be considered for the show. After submitting a video interview and presentation, I received the call that I had been chosen as one of the two REALTORS to be featured on this project.

This is a very exciting opportunity not only for me but for our real estate market in Sioux Falls, SD. Our market has been extremely strong over the past few years even in the midst of the housing crisis that has been hampering most of the country. There is no better time than now to get the word out to buyers and sellers that buying or selling real estate is still one of the best investments one can make.

I will keep you posted as to how the HGTV project is coming and I hope all of you have a great summer!

Spring! A season, an action, a thing. Whatever the case, spring can take on so many definitions. Here in South Dakota it appears spring is an action or a thing rather than a season. Just like going through a small town, if you blink, you've missed it. However, in the event the snow melts and the temperature does rise above zero, there is much to do during the spring season. Spring cleaning is a "dirty phrase" to many, but necessary in preparing for the warmer weather months. Yes, spring cleaning is essential to help beatify your surroundings and provides an opportunity to get out and get some exercise, but if you are selling a home it is imperative in the home selling process. During the winter, many things can occur from cracking concrete and paint, to water damage due to the winter moisture. Lawns brown up and plants and flowers die. Take the opportunity to grab a paint brush, lawn mower and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. It will pay off in the end when buyers are attracted to your home that is alive and vibrant as opposed to the competitors home that is still hibernating from the winter.
