Exxon Sets Profit Record in US - 07/31/08 09:50 AM
Did anyone read this on Yahoo today? "The record-setting results were largely expected, given that crude prices in the second quarter were nearly double what they were a year ago. Natural gas prices were significantly higher too." Exxon Provides 3% Of the worlds oil. There reported earnings for the Quarter not the year were $11.68 Billion! If only I had bought some stock. One thing I did notice yesterday and I suppose I should be happy about, when I went to the pump to fill up it was under $4.50 a gallon. In fact I think it was under $4.40, Dare

Why Keller Williams Realty? - 07/29/08 02:21 PM
I was looking for some guidance, maybe a few classes to pull me through when I came back into the work force, but what I didn't realize is Keller Williams is much, much More. The majority of agents here are caring and go out of their way to help. We have Top Producers come over from big RE companies. So it proves that its just a myth, that KW is only for the "new unseasoned agent. Most agents stay for the long haul. If you ever have any questions about Keller Williams or Real Estate in the Paso Robles area please call

Friday Open House, It Works! - 07/27/08 06:27 PM
This is a continuation of A previous blog. I don't have an exact count on how many agents do Friday Open Houses in our office, But when ever I see a sign I always try to stop by and say hi. It allows me to see the inventory and be supportive. That's one of the many great things about Keller Williams, we are team players. Why not hold an open house from 11-2? Its great for busy families who don't want to give up their weekends. Both from the clients perspective and the agents perspective. Try doing a 3-6 Open house,

Raising Boys into Men - 07/26/08 04:29 PM
Raising Boys into men in this uncertain world. I seem to be the unofficial neighborhood mom, which is just fine by me. But I'm surprised at how I've had to teach other kids to offer to help carry in the groceries, even for their own mothers. My boy will hold the door for you and they are pretty good with their please and thank yous. Now don't get me wrong, they on occasion back talk and they hate chores of any kind although they do them, sometimes with several reminder. lol. My kids will always say hi to a parent they recognize,

First step in getting Organized - 07/26/08 10:35 AM
I'm writing this blog so I don't have to go tackle my home office (it's been on the list for months). Step one is easy grab a large trash bag and don't kid yourself, grad the yard type. Start grabbing stuff that has been sitting around and is of no use at all : Food wrappers, expired coupons, rusted/broken kitchen utensils, stretched out socks, old magazines, kids old over used toys, dry cleaning hangers. The GOAL is to fill the bag. Go through you drawers, first empty it, then put the things back in you want to keep. It will go muck

Open House FRIDAY - 07/26/08 10:05 AM
Why not hold an open house from 11-2? Its great for busy families who don't want to give up their weekends. Both from the clients perspective and the agents perspective. Try doing a 3-6 Open house, you will capture all the after school traffic as well as the after work commuters. This work best in town where your signs are visible. The more signs the better! I usually have bottled water and prepacked pretzels or granola bars. People tend to stay and ask questions if they are not starving. If fellow agents have listing in the same neighborhood I suggest you

Foreclosures More Than Double - 07/25/08 09:28 AM
The head lines in Yahoo this morning read "Foreclosures More Than Double In 2007", Ouch! I'm a forever optimist which drives my husband nuts, but I truly don't see what the banks are trying to accomplish here. First of all I know several people who have tried to work with the bank only to end losing their house. Theses are people who have jobs but their mortgage payment is too large now. Banks need customers, but if they keep foreclosing on them they won't qualify for any type of loan. Homeowner need to call Realtors before they are upside down, to see

Mid State Fair Paso Robles, Money Well Spent - 07/24/08 11:21 PM
The fair opened in our town last night so we took the family tonight. Its always fun. Toby Keith was playing so as it got dark it started to get crowed. My youngest son let the Carney take all his money on the games, despite all our warning, but it's always a lesson learned. There are the usual booths, and I always Need something. I did get really cool license plate frames with my website address on them, But I think the bet part is the 10 minuet massage for $12.00. I get one every time. Its like a hidden treasure

Mail Mayhem - 07/24/08 03:50 PM
Mail Mayhemthat is the only thing that would describe my daily ritual of mail and paper work that comes through my house. In a much needed attempt to simplify my life and increase my work load I have come up with some easy solutions. The first is to Process all mail as it comes in daily, Toss junk mail (recycle please), File bills, and Sort by category such as need to call, read or give to husband. This one simple thing will not only clear off my kitchen bar, it will declutter my office desk and make cleaning a little easier.

How to Answer those Credit Questions? - 07/24/08 10:50 AM
I try to be the expert at real estate. What my lender has given me to use and has worked well is:" I'm pretty sure I can answer that but why don't you go talk with XXXXX she's an expert in loans and can answer all you questions." I also explain that that information changes on a daily basis and the lender will be the first to have the current most accurate information. Most of the time it opens doors and gets them prequalified and allows for no last minute surprises. As an agent it makes the escrow go little smoother.

How to Read and Understand you Credit Report - 07/24/08 12:49 AM
Our In-House lender is having a class on Credit. Its a great way to educate your clients and also keep in contact with them. If you don't have an In-house lender pick one you are fimillar with and see if they will put on a class. I included an email from our lender so you can see what the class is about. Recent changes in both conventional and FHA loans now mean that yourFICO score and report will influence what you will pay on a mortgageeven more than before. This makes understanding your credit reportvital. It isn't just having "no late payments".

Get Organized - 07/24/08 12:26 AM
First Make a list of your projects, such as kitchen, garage, photographs, filing, CD library. Next choose just one. Now breakdown that project into mini projects. In the garage, for example, mini project might include, put away tools, clean off washer and dryer, sweep, clean out cabinets. Each day allow between 5 and 30 minutes depending on the mini project, do every day until complete. This will work for homes or work and I've found that if you break it down it doesn't seen like such a an obstacle to tackle.

Where to Retire? - 07/22/08 04:23 PM
Most people have an age where they think they might want to retire. Mine is 55, but I'm only 40 and I still have three kids at home so I'm still just a dreamer. There are two questions you should ask yourself WHEN and WHERE should I retire? If you know the when then you start researching Where: different states, climate, tax laws and penalties, and for my husband and I where our kids will end up is most important. Make sure the area meets your medial, religions and social needs. For more information on retiring to a new area contact your

Now is the time to buy - 07/21/08 08:43 PM
What are you waiting for? Now is the time to buy. The housing prices could drop a little lower, great for a buyer? possibly not. If your sitting around just waiting for the bottom to fall out, the problem is the interest rates are raising and while your house may cost a little less your payment will end up being MORE. Buy while the time to buy is still good. Lisa Long, Keller Williams Realty

"what's Happening" Your Realtor knows! - 07/15/08 12:59 AM
I'm guessing a lot of agents are like me. As I'm shuffling through a local magazine tonight to check out the months current events I realized I must add tour guide and travel agent to my list of job descriptions. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining I'm fortunate enough to live in a community that has something going on every single weekend and most weeknights. There's wine tasting, horse shows, car shows, festivals and concerts just to name a few. So the next time one of my clients ask "what's Happening"It is my job and my pleasure to have an answer. just a thought on foreclosures - 07/05/08 09:51 AM
The headlines today on yahoo says " Foreclosures to rise no matter who is elected President". Enough already. It seems like every time I run an ad in the news paper That's the day they choose to print their doom and gloom on the housing market. I guess I'm just optimistic. If you sell at a lower price you buy at a lower price, common sense. Never borrow against your home what you cant make the payment on tomorrow. I know this doesn't help those already in trouble, but all the bad press just seem to offer is no hope. I
