real estate marketing: Internet Marketing – Off Page Optimization. - 03/13/07 01:44 PM
Off page optimization is in simple terms all about link building. The key to good link building is the anchor text that you use. It use always be your key phrases or mutants of them. Let me explain what I mean by mutants, the search engines get very suspicious if they see noting but the same text. So mutants allow you to get around this for one term, lets say you are targeting the term ‘Toronto Real Estate', you could also use ‘Real Estate Toronto', ‘Real Estate in Toronto', ‘Toronto Real Estate Agent'. These all contain your keywords and look more

real estate marketing: Internet Marketing – On Page Optimization - 03/12/07 03:35 PM
As we noted in the previous article on page optimization is not just about optimizing for the search engines, it's also about making the experience for your visitors memorable, so that they want to come back for more and so that they buy from you. So make your site content rich and something that you would want to visit and read, if you wouldn't want to visit your own site why would anyone else? Use you key words within your text but don't make it look like a list of phrases, use them throughout the pages on your site. Once you've

real estate marketing: Has anyone tried this product ? - 01/10/07 07:29 PM
I was surfing today looking at online products that might help my clients with their real estate internet marketing, especially as I regard it to be my job to help them turn all leads not just online ones to real live sales. I came across this product that claims to assist with follow up showing by other agents, it available to view at http://www.homefeedback.com/ has anyone here used it, heard anything about it. Does it do what to claims to do, and does the follow up really come through. Anyway agents can turn suspects, to prospects to sales is great if it works

real estate marketing: A picture of You or your Team ? - 01/03/07 03:17 PM
Recently we have had many discussions with real estate agents about their web sites and conversion rates from their traffic. Many agents seem to get a lot of hits and no conversions, others not so many hits but a much higher conversion rate. This appeared to be strange as many of the sites were using a templated setup that we have worked with in the search engines. So as a real estate internet marketing company we started to look in more detail at what was going on with these sites. The property searches were laid out the same, same navigation, articles and

real estate marketing: Would a forum be of use to you and your clients ? (Lots of comments please) - 01/02/07 03:14 PM
This post is one I'd like to get lots of comments and feedback on from Real Estate Agents, their clients and the marketing communities here. We are considering expanding our real estate news blog at http://www.realestatearena.net/ to include a directory and a forum, however I'd like to get feed back from you guys here in the activerain community. I've seen in the past where these directories have become highly ranked and real estate agents getting extremely upset about this because the directory are creaming off the traffic and selling leads back to the agents that have made the site a success, this

real estate marketing: Is Spam and Bulk Emails Slowing your response to customers ? - 12/27/06 03:01 PM
In this article I'd like to cover 2 areas. When is an email SPAM ? and What can you do about it ? I recently spent an hour or so on the phone with a web host discussing when is an email spam and they explained the following to me. It is a very grey area, we discussed the obvious like all of the gambling, phishing, pharmacy etc. that's going around, but then we got onto subjects like link exchanges, genuine business propositions etc. The response back from the web host that any email will be regarded as spam if the recipient decides

real estate marketing: Marketing Your Real Estate Web Site – DIY or Use a Company ? - 12/21/06 02:42 PM
When it comes to marketing your real estate web site there are several things you should ask yourself before you decide that you will do it yourself. Firstly, Do you know how to do it ? All too often people think they know what they are doing and receive advice form a whole multitude of web designers, friends, blogs and wherever. But is the advice right, we had a new client recently whose designer knew all about search engine marketing and was going to build his knowledge in as he went. The first thing we found was hidden text on the page

real estate marketing: Meta Descriptions - Are they a waste of time. - 12/20/06 08:00 PM
This is another myth that we encounter all the time, all too many SEO companies today tell their clients that the meta description has no bearing on their ranking and therefore isn't worth worry about. Well I guess they are 99.9% right except that the .1% that they are wrong is very important and this is where the difference between SEO and internet marketing starts to come into play. After the title in the search engines, the very next thing a potential visitor sees is your meta description, make it accurate and punchy, and the potential visitor may turn into a real live

real estate marketing: Duplicate Content - Myth or Fact ? - 12/19/06 01:49 PM
This article closely follows up on the post yesterday about tmeplated sites and gives a feel for what Google in particular does with duplicate content. We've been asked the question about how Google treats duplicate content and penalties for it. We have no 100% answer as we believe we can make cases for the myth and cases for the fact, so here's how we see it. If you are posting an article that has been posted on another site, on another server and with a different name for the page, it is unlikely that you will receive a duplicate content penalty for the

real estate marketing: Templated Real Estate Site or A Web Site Template for Real Estate ? - 12/18/06 02:22 PM
I speak to many people in both the real estate world and other areas where templated web sites are used and they ask us the question should I use a templated web site ? This is a difficult question to answer so knowing I'm about to get a lot of comments objecting to my response here goes. Templated web sites all come out looking pretty much the same even if you wrap them with a different graphic, footer, colors etc. The main problem is, everybody using a templated site is likely using the same names for their pages, with virtually the same content,

"This articles gives Sellers tips on how to pick an agent, but also makes some very good points to agents about their web sites and listing prices." With 8 out of 10 perspective buyers going online to find their new home, there are many things you should consider when you list your house with your local real estate agent. 1. Always go with a real estate agent that has a web site. 2. Make sure that the web site is being updated regularly and that your property is going to be listed on that web site. 3. Ask the real estate agent to show you

real estate marketing: Where should I host my real estate web site for the best Internet marketing results? - 12/14/06 12:26 PM
As a company based in Canada and working with clients in the UK, US and Canada, we are asked this question all of the time. The reason we are able to work with clients all over the world is the World Wide Web and its ability to allow anybody, anywhere to view what we do. With this in mind you would expect our answer to be: host with whoever gives you the best value for money. In fact, this is not the answer. Google and the other major search engines all have country based versions of their search engines and will normally

real estate marketing: Choosing a Domain Name for your Real Estate Web site. - 12/13/06 03:29 PM
This is the first in a line of articles about marketing your real estate internet web site. Some of the things that I will say during this series will most definitely be regarded as controversial by many SEO pundits, but I am talking about marketing your web site, not just optimizing it for the search engines. The key difference here is that the aim is to bring you good qualified traffic from many interested parties not just from the search engines. So here we go, as I have said above the whole aim of any web site is to get good quality
