CONNETICUT CONSUMERS RETHINKING ELECTRIC SUPPLIERS - 01/27/11 11:24 AM
In one of my previous posts I wrote how our electric rates in Connecticut were among the highest in the country. Many of us have changed our electric suppliers in the past couple of years to companies who offered lower rates than Connecticut Light and Power and United Illuminating Co. These alternative providers instituted reduced rates that were substantially cheaper.
This year the huge companies Connecticut Light and Power and United Illuminating have reduced their rates and could be cheaper than the suppliers that many of us changed to. They will have a tough time beating the rates of the 2 … (0 comments)

IS OPPORTUNITY KNOCKING? - 01/25/11 12:58 PM
Historically low interest rates and bargain prices have made Connecticut home ownership the most affordable it has been at any time during the last 40 years. And while the market won’t shift overnight, dramatic decreases in new home production suggest that as demand for homes returns over the next couple of years there will be a shortage of homes to choose from when looking to purchase.

He talked about Bradley Airport Authority becoming stronger and more … (1 comments)

CONNECTICUT FORCES BANKS TO MEDIATE WITH HOMEOWNERS GOING INTO FORECLOSURE - 01/06/11 12:24 PM

Connecticut courts are arranging for banks to sit down with borrower's facing foreclosure and attempt to hammer out a settlement rather than going to court. The negotiations are assisted by a third party mediator and are producing loan modifications and other acceptable settlements at higher rates than those states with only voluntary mortgage mediation programs.
Nationwide, the number of troubled homeowners receiving assistance with their mortgages has been falling leading to a continuation of the foreclosure problem. In states such as Connecticut that require foreclosure … (0 comments)

SPREAD SOME JOY NOW THAT THE NEW YEAR IS HERE! - 01/04/11 12:50 PM
"Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each New Year find you a better man" Benjamin Franklin.
We all have our yearly New Year's resolutions; let's work on making them a little unique in 2011. What about making donations of our time or items that we no longer need or use? The good thing about helping others is the way it makes us feel about ourselves in the process. So making the resolution to give back to out community often proves mutually beneficial. Volunteer at a senior center, or become a mentor for disadvantaged … (0 comments)
