Well we didn’t need the calendar to tell us summer was officially here in Murphy, NC! We all had a colder than usual winter and it looks, and feels like, a hotter than usual summer too. Festivals in the Mountains...Blairsville Scottish Festival & Highland Games - 06/13/10 06:08 PM

We had our calendars marked far in advance for the Blairsville Scottish Festival & Highland Games for this weekend!  Each year the Scottish Festival is started off on Friday with the Kilted Golf Classic at Butternut Creek Golf Course and the Ceilidh Dinner. Saturday and Sunday follow and are filled with the sounds of bagpipes, drums and the colorful display of flags and tartans throughout the lovely setting along the creek at Meeks Park in Blairsville, GA.

Well, it’s auction time here at the Folk School and we are gearing up for the Annual Gala and Benefit Auction at the John C. Campbell Folk School this Saturday night, June 12, 2010 and starts at 5 pm. If a seller removed items that were to convey with the sale their home, what will the buyer do?
The seller, living in another state had their home listed and was marketing it as a Chalet with great rental history that was being sold completely furnished down to the linens and pots and pans. Our buyers were specifically looking for a house to use as a rental for a few years until they could finally retire and make the permanent move to the NC mountains. Murphy, NC has a couple very nice nail salons, but I just found the newest salon to open up in our little town. Nail 1 Salon and Spa offers professional nail care for ladies and gentlemen. They not only have excellent nail services, but also offer waxing, facials, massage and eyelash extensions.
