Sponsored by Carlina First the Reedy River Run in Downtown Greenville SC is scheduled for Saturday March 7th, 2009. The race is run between 8:30am and 10:30am. During the race many streets will be closed so be aware of that if you are going to downtown Greenville for any reason. The race course goes through the Main Street and Downtown area then through the Hampton-Pinckney Historic District. Some street closures will continue until 11:00am as the awards and after race festivities continue. The race organizers expect 4,000 to 5,000 participants either walking, running or watching. There’s a new fried chicken chain in Greenville SC and expansion in Greer SC. The new fried chicken chain that you probably haven’t heard about before is Pollo Campero. Pollo Campero is the recent addition to the Cherrydale area and features various fried chicken with a Latino flavor. Some of its specialty items include Peruvian grilled chicken, yucca fries and sweet plantains. The firm plans to add five more stores between Greenville and Charlotte, stating that there is nothing like it in the area. While the national real estate market has been suffering a consistent decline in prices, Greenville SC real estate ranks ninth in appreciation of single family homes, according to the U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency. South Carolina real estate ranks forth in appreciation of single family homes. This conclusion comes from sales and financing data on conventional loans from Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. From the third quarter 2007-2008, national values dropped 4%, but South Carolina real estate values increased 2.42%. In the Upstate, the whole Greenville-Maulding-Easley area was No. 9 with Greenville SC Real estate values increasing 4.55% over the last year. (1 comments)
