newbie tips: Top Producer - What Have YOU Done For Me Lately - 09/28/08 08:21 AM
I am currently on a small get away weekend with my wife. Last night, we were looking at a self written review for a restaurant that we were going to.  The comments stated:
Voted #1 Restaurant for years 2000-2004 and 2006-2007.
My wife made the following comment " I wonder who beat them out in 2005".  That got me to thinking about real estate (everything gets me thinking about real estate).
We have all read profiles that include statements like "top-producer 2000-2005".  The consumer is probably wondering....what happened since 2005?  When the real estate market started cooling off, were you (Mr/Ms … (14 comments)

newbie tips: Are you a VULTURE or a SPARROW. - 09/25/08 09:45 AM

Are You a VULTURE or a SPARROW?
One of the things that we all have to do from time to time is to be honest with ourselves.  We have to look in the mirror and determine if like what we see.
I always contend that we become similar to the people that we associate with.  If you associate with vultures, YOU are probably a vulture.  Vultures seldom attack healthy animals, but may kill the wounded or sick. They gorge themselves when prey is abundant, till they are full.  They they sit, sleepy or half torpid, to digest their food.
IS THIS HOW … (12 comments)

Every once in awhile, a new question will come into my mind.  This morning as I was trying to come up with a new blog topic, I wondered to myself.....

Find An Ally - No matter how good you are, you can't be in all places at all times.  Find someone who you trust.  This person should share your goals, values and dreams for the future.  Now I am not suggesting a formal partnership.  Rather, someone who will be there to step into your shoes when you are not available (i.e. … (14 comments)

newbie tips: How Do You Write Your Agent Bio? Put Your Best Foot Forward & Write Something Unique (Lose the Boilerplate!) - 08/16/08 07:26 AM
Newbies & Seasoned agents.  Here is some excellent advice from Mary Pope-handy.  Go to her home page and read her bio.  See what you think.  I think she has done an excellent job.
Via Mary Pope-Handy, ABR, CRS, ePRO, SRES:
Today I got a postcard from an agent who's relatively new to the business. It appears that she studied a number of other agent's biographies and "about me" pages to figure out what to write about herself, because she copied at least part of the  description word for word. I'd seen it many times before, so could not resist the thought of … (3 comments)

newbie tips: Top 10 Sex Secrets To Include In Your Blog & Why. - 07/29/08 12:02 PM
Someone made a comment on my blog the other day that they doubt they could come up with ten posts in a week.  When I first started blogging, I thought the same thing.  I will share with you some of the things I have learned in my short stay on the Rain.

Hello Newbies,
My name is Leander McClain and I am a fantastic Real Estate Consultant working in beautiful Burlington County, NJ.
My first piece of advice to the newbies in this group is to make sure you read the small print and follow all of the instructions while here on AR.  I have had a post removed from this group (not sure why....think it's because I didn't introduce myself....but I took care of that above).  I have also had points not awarded for posts (shorter than 50 words) and finally, I had points removed for some other reason (Don't know why).  … (5 comments)
