If you rub a slice of cucumber on your bathroom mirror it will not only eliminate the steam/fog on your mirror but it will add a spa-like fragrance to the air. Okay, it's been a while since I have posted a Quick Tip - mostly because I am still waiting for ya'll to get over the Uses for Vodka!

Lemon juice can be used for so many different situations around the home!  Because of lemons acidity they are perfect for some tough cleaning jobs and are somewhat antiseptic and antibacterial.  Here are some great ideas for using lemon juice around the house:
If you have light colored countertops and they become stained with kool-aid, wine, food stains, etc just pour a little lemon juice on the stain and let stand for a few minutes.  After only a few minutes sprinkle some baking soda on the spot and scrub - the stain will disappear.  **I have personally tried this on a … (29 comments)

I don't know about you but no matter how hard I try I always get spatters in my microwave or something blows up in my microwave.  Hhmmm, Liam learned that it's really cool to put a marshmallow in the microwave to watch it expand - besides, he wanted smores!  Well, the marshmallow expanded alright - it exploded!  YUCK!
Here is a great GREEN way to get those messes out of your microwave - I tried it - IT WORKS!

It's been a while since I have posted any Green Tips and I have run across quite a few lately!  Here is one that I just tried out today and it worked beautifully in the kitchen!  I hope that you give it a try and have as much success as I did!
Recipe for Slow Drainer Cleaner
1/2 c. baking soda
2 c BOILING water
1/2 c vinegar
Pour the 1/2 c baking soda down the problem drain. Immediately follow that with the 2 c of boiling water and then pour the vinegar down the drain last.  Be sure to cover … (12 comments)

First of all, thanks to all of my readers that have been sending in tips for household cleaning, etc - it is wonderful!  I may have to compile all of them into a blog post of their own!  In the meantime - here is yet another quick, green tip that was sent to me by a resident here in Wake Forest NC:
Baking Soda
