north carolina: Census Report Released Today - 8 NC Counties Among Nation's Fastest Growing... - 03/20/08 12:45 PM
Eight North Carolina counties are listed on the latest release (March 20, 2008) of the Census Report from the U.S. Census Bureau. In fact, all but one of the the counties (overall) were in the South or West. Maricopa Arizona took the top spot with the highest numerical growth in the period of July 1, 2006 - July 1, 2007.
Among the Top 10 of counties with the biggest numerical growth was my very own Wake County! Home to Raleigh. Wake County showed an impressive 4.9% growth in just 1 year.

March is the beginning of the strawberry season here in North Carolina and lasts until about mid-June. North Carolina ranks fourth in the US for strawberry production and they are quite simply some of the best you have ever had!!! Almost all of the fruit produced in NC is sold for fresh market here in the state in the form of "pick-your-own" fields, farmers markets, local roadside stands and also within grocery stores. Others in the top four produce strictly for shipping or processing.

Wow - Can you believe it? It's almost NC State Fair time! That means cooler weather, crispy fall leaves, the smell of funnel cakes and roasted corn on the cob, ferris wheels, rides and games - OH MY!
If you have never been to the NC State Fair - I sincerely hope that you find the time this year. It truely does has something for all ages! This years entertainment ranges from Carolina's own Daughtry to the Food Networks Paula Deen. It is sure to be entertaining!

It's a tight fit! Here is an article out just today regarding the enrollment numbers for Wake County Public Schools. Wow - according to the article we have moved into the 19th spot for the Biggest U.S. district....More students just keep on coming.
