This Is Wake Forest NC and We Didn't Mean To Trick You!
I can not tell you how many times I have been in stores or restaurants and I hear tourists asking for directions to the Wake Forest University. When they find that although they may BE in Wake Forest NC the University is approximately 2 hours away......Talk about frustrated! Sometimes they even get mad like it was a whole conspiracy by the town to mislead them.......Well, here is a little history lesson regarding Wake Forest and well, Wake Forest.....

I have written several posts regarding Wake Forest University and the town of Wake Forest, NC. Many people still flock to Wake Forest, NC to visit the University. Sadly, they are sent 3 hours away. You see, the University was born here but grew up and moved away way back in 1956.

Answer: "If you are in Wake Forest you are in the WRONG PLACE!" I posted almost a year ago about the misconception that the Wake Forest University is located in Wake Forest NC. Now, we all know that one person can't change the thinking of the masses but I thought it was worth getting the information out again.
So, for those of you that missed it here is a brief overview and history lesson on the Wake Forest University. Really quite interesting!

In the beginning of the year I posted about the confusion that sometimes occurs when people want to visit the Wake Forest University. That blog, Wake Forest vs. Wake Forest, Would The Real Wake Forest Please Step Forward? , highlighted the birth of Wake Forest College and the migration of the College to Winston-Salem, NC.
While the college may no longer reside here in Wake Forest the legacy remains! The original home which housed the college has been preserved and is open for visitors. The museum is dedicated to preserving the Wake Forest College history prior to its move and just … (0 comments)

For those of you not familiar with Wake Forest let me give you my view point. It is a wonderful "small" town that is quickly being consumed from the ever-expanding Raleigh. There is a wonderful historic downtown area and the birthplace of Wake Forest University is here. I can't tell you the number of times that I have run into people (out-of-towners) looking for directions to get to the University.
