Spring Lake, N.C. - Spring Lake officials say they will review the town's noise ordinance at a meeting next month.The review comes after Dwight Bell, operator of Daddy D's Sweets & Treats, drew a $50 citation for the music on his ice cream truck. Police told Bell the music was too loud and ticketed him for creating a public disturbance.

Oh my! While I completely understand the conundrum that the town faces I just can't imagine a summer without the Community Pool at Holding Park! It is such an iconic landmark and it bustling with activity during the summer!
Due to the horrific drought that we have experienced here in the south the Wake Forest town leaders are contemplating NOT opening the pool this summer. It is a decision that they do not take lightly. From the article:

Raleigh NC has become on of the first cities in the nation to BAN garbage disposals in new homes as well as replacing or repairing existing ones! Any towns that receive their water from the City of Raleigh are also included in the ban. Such cities are Rolesville, Wake Forest, Knightdale, Zebulon, Wendell and Garner. This new law becomes effective TODAY and fines are $25,000 per violation!
There have been approximately 99 sewer overflows just since 2005 from putting grease and food down disposals. That waste then filters into the local streams.

What was the one where potential buyers spent the night in the house? Well, there is another version of it called "Date My House" and it will be hosted by Bob Guiney. He is from "Bachelor" fame......uugghh....

I have said in many, many posts that I am so happy to live in Wake Forest! We have great town leaders, planners and visionaries! While we are growing by leaps and bounds there is a plan. In past posts I have provided links to the "roadmaps" by which Wake Forest will continue it's onward growth. I hope that you have found them useful and if you need the links again just let me know.

I lived in Charlotte, NC years ago and I sold real estate there as well. I remember vividly taking buyers out to show them property and one of their main concerns were, "We want to be in the county and not the city." I told them each and every time that the home they were purchasing was "county" at the time but there was no guarantee that would last. Charlotte slowly became synonymous with Mecklenburg County. And, to that end, the line between Rock Hill, SC and Charlotte, NC became VERY vague!

A thought-provoking article just came across the wire on WRAL which I am sure will raise temperatures of buyers, seller, and Realtors.....Basically, the article is relating to a proposal that would limit what Home Inspectors are allowed to put on their reports. I have a few inspectors that read this blog and I would welcome their perspective!Currently, from what I have experienced and from what I understand, a home inspector can inlude on his report for a home his "opinion".
