You've probably heard the quote,"the elephant in the room." Well there is an elephant in our churches and it's called "Network Marketing." The question is how should we address it? It seems like every year I get somebody calling me regarding some new fabulous Network Marketing company. They talk about all the benefits it will have for our church. They talk about how it will raise funds for the church and they talk about how I can be the biggest beneficiary. Now don't get me wrong, I actually think Network Marketing is a viable profession and I think there is some

marketing: Re: Blogging, don't believe what you don't see - 03/12/10 10:55 AM
Blogging is kind of interesting. Have you ever thought of the number of people who actually look at your blog and don't make comments? Believe me they do exist. They do see it and many of them do read your blog. Just because you are not getting as many comments as you would like, know that you've got readers. You would be amazed how the same blog in different networks get totally different responses. I've blogged here in this network and gotten "no" responses and I've used the same blog in different networks and got overwhelming responses. (Notice I didn't name

marketing: Audio Marketing Secrets - 03/05/10 11:29 AM
Using audio in your marketing campaign can mean the difference between night and day. Working on the internet is a wonderful tool but it has limited emotional connection unless you're a wonderful writer. The best of writers can do well without audio but us who just write OK can use all the help we can get. I know many people talk about video being better than audio. In my opinion video is a little bit more complicated because you have to prepare to be seen and heard vs. just preparing to be heard on audio. I've done both and actually do

How many times have to starting talking to yourself saying, "I am marketing like crazy but I don't seem to get results"? The question might sound like a legitimate one but is it really? Marketing is a series of tactics we utilize in our overall strategy to a targeted market in order to: 1. Create awareness about who we are and what we represent 2. The moment we stop putting our message in front of the people who need and/or want our products and/or services we have just hung ourselves. Marketing is

marketing: Social Networking is like Social Equity - 11/12/08 08:35 AM
Being sold yourself is of great importance when we utilize social networking in business. There is an acronym that says, "iasm stands for I am sold myself" In fact I think this is true about anything we hope to share with others. If you can ever get excited about something, getting excited about helping people attain their goals should be high on the list. Our enthusiasm just spills onto people and is very contagious. Can you imagine an unenthusiastic person trying to offer help to somebody? The person with enthusiasm has a tremendous advantage. One thing I must tell you

Perhaps you have heard the statement, "people make the world go round." People are the essence of social networking. marketing: Better to be Good than Lucky at Social Networking in Business - 10/31/08 12:30 PM
OK, every once in a while it is a good thing to be lucky. But it is a much better thing to be good at social networking than rely on luck. An approach that is consistent and genuinely beneficial for the parties involved is a much better way to network. Networking does come fairly easy to some. But to most it is a learned skill. I must say it a skill that takes continual learning. It is not that the game is changing so much. The key is we have to continue to learn to keep reminded and further sharpen

marketing: Marketing on the internet is no joke - 10/22/08 09:29 PM
Marketing on the internet is no joke. Over the years I have seen people come and go. To me it's no different than sales. It is said that "sales is the highest paid hard work and the lowest paid easy work." I would say the same is true for internet marketing. It takes knowledge, skill and passion to succeed on the internet. Knowledge - Getting knowledge by watching others is one way to get it. A better way is to go to school and put into practice what you learn. There are several good teachers of internet marketing where you can

marketing: What are people saying behind your back? - 06/28/08 04:57 PM
Clients and prospective clients always have something to say behind my back. I used to be afraid of what they were saying until I found out what they were saying. Initially there wasn't much good being said because I didn't really give them anything worth talking about. Today I can proudly say that my clients and prospective clients have good things to say behind my back. Lots of people talk about adding value to your offer. My question is why not give value before your client becomes your client? It surely will get people talking about you in a positive way.
