blogging: Stop, Look and Listen --That's How to Find Topics for Your Posts - 02/02/12 08:24 AM
SUBJECTS FOR ACTIVERAIN BLOG POSTS ARE LIMMITED ONLY BY YOUR IMAGINATION! There are few limits: * Don't be nasty. Usually reflects poorly on the writer. * Don't steal published material created by others. Could cost you dearly in $$$$$ * Don't be too profane. It will probably be published but may reflect poorly on the writer.
The possibilities are limited only by your imagination: Did you vist a merchant today? Did you visit a residential community today? Have you discovered a market area new to you? Did anything interesting occur on a buyer tour today? Did you have an interesting listing presentation today? Have you discovered a web site helpful to ActiveRain members? What's in

blogging: Paula Hathaway asks: WHAT'S WITH THE SUPER-CRITICAL ATTITUDE??...Why Is There Such A Need To Make others Wrong?? - 01/23/12 06:14 AM
Lenn Asks: HOW MANY ACTIVERAIN MEMBERS DO NOT POST TO THEIR BLOG FOR FEAR OF CRITICISM?? More than we can count. Paula is absolutely right. I've been contacted by members inquiring about a number of matters related to blogging and their blog. They either don't post to their blog or comment with interest simply because of the fear of being criticized by other members. Paula is like many of us who are active members, read a number of posts daily, comment and reblog with a great deal of interest and detail. YES, when we publish a post, we become vulnerable to

blogging: I ENJOY SEEING PROPERTY LISTING POSTS ON ACTIVERAIN! SO THERE! - 09/05/11 07:10 PM
I ENJOY SEEING PROPERTY LISTING POSTS ON ACTIVERAIN! SO THERE! What else can folks complain about?? While reviewing blog posts this afternoon, I read a post by Barbara Tudero that really needs to be read. Can't reblog it because it's Members Only. Just visit Barbara's blog and see the article posted today, Sept. 5, 2011 @9:02 a.m. (after I left for the day). It appears that another member believes that property listing posts are SPAM. Good grief! I've been fighting spam on the Internet since 1995. I know SPAM when I see it. Property listing posts are NOT SPAM.

blogging: ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF "GAME CHANGERS" in life, business and sports. - 06/27/11 10:42 AM
Inspired by Rich Jacobson's post this a.m., I'm thoughtful of, not just what or whom we admire, but WHY. CAN'T SEE THE FOREST FOR THE TREES?? NOT RICH JACOBSON. In his post, Taking a Swing at ActiveRain , Rich defends ActiveRain. Proving (as one who could carry a grudge but doesn't) that many who bash or diminish the value of ActiveRain have tunnel vision and are probably focused on one tree (or their own navel) rather than the forest in front of them. WHAT MAKES A WEB SITE, A SPORTS CHAMPION OR A BUSINESS STAND OUT AND BE WORTHY OF ADMIRATION? For me, it is ARE

blogging: Alan May Has My Muse, Tish Lloyd Has My Hat and Me, Well I got...... - 10/20/10 09:24 AM
JUST SAY NOTHING - IT SHOULD BE GOOD FOR A RUN OF ABOUT 9 YEARS. Charita underestimates the value of saying nothing. After all, the television series Seinfeld, which was about "nothing", lasted for 9 full chuckle packed years. SOMETIMES IT'S NOT EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAY, but how you say it. After all, I've written entire articles about why it's often wise for real estate agents to say "as little as possible". One of my favorite politicians, Robert Dole, said it best. The disclosure of the secret taping system in Richard Nixon's office brought forth the comment: "I'm glad I always

blogging: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO POST TO YOUR BLOG??? HOW ABOUT, WHY SOME FOLKS NEVER DO BLOG. - 07/11/10 04:01 PM
Interesting questions today by Greg Nino and Alan May about why, when, how and how long does it take to post to your ACTIVERAIN BLOG??? I go back to the beginning and propose, again, that blogging will never "catch on" with any where near a majority of real estate agents. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From a post in 2007. I STILL BELIEVE THE MESSAGE IN THIS POST. THIS OLDIE BUT GOODIE REMINDS ME, AND FOLKS WHO AGREE, THAT: BLOGGING WILL NEVER CATCH ON WITH REAL ESTATE AGENTS WHAT? YOU THINK LENN HAS COMPLETELY LOST HER MIND?Perhaps. But, perhaps not. Let me rephrase the title:

blogging: HAVE YOU LOOKED AT YOUR ACTIVERAIN BLOG LATELY??? - 06/23/10 10:13 AM
THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE. Do you want members to read your words of wisdom? Sure, and don't you also want consumers interested in real estate matters to read your words of wisdom, tour the features offered on your blog, see your contact information, etc.???? O.K. Take a minute and go look at your latest blog post. . . waiting, waiting. HOW EASY IS YOUR BLOG TO READ?? Or does it remind you of the overpowering CABBAGE ROSE wall paper in that old Victorian home you previewed last week??? Is your eye drawn to the border which survives the

blogging: "Can Blogging really Help to Build My Business?" - 01/24/10 06:02 AM
EXPERIENCE IS A WONDERFUL TEACHER. However, who's "experience" is going to be used and how is it going to be used?? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Via Rich Jacobson Your Kitsap County WA Real Estate Agent (Windermere West Sound, Inc.): Stuart Kaufman, noted Personal & Business Coach, who writes a column for the Washington REALTORS® News, contacted me the other day and asked if I would contribute to an upcoming article he is putting together on Blogging. In this article, he is posing the question: “It seems like Blogging is the current rage. I took a class and know the basics, but can it really

blogging: RECYCLING CANS, BOTTLES, NEWSPAPER, TIRES AND ACTIVERAIN POSTS - "Will Blogging Ever Catch On With Real Estate Agents?" - 06/21/08 08:00 AM
SEVERAL EVENTS THIS WEEK REMINDED ME OF THIS ARTICLE I POSTED IN AUGUST OF 2007. 1. Article by Rich Jacobson: "Points vs. Non-Original Content" - Blog Tips for Rain Drips reminds me of the difficulty some bloggers have originating content and seek short cuts. 2. A contact from a real estate agent wishing to reprint articles from my blog or web site on her web sites. ("No thanks"). 3. A post by Mike Jaquish: Got "Blogger's Block?" You don't have to hit a home run every time! with suggestions for blogging topics. 4. Brian Block wrote posted this week imploring

blogging: ACTIVERAIN, POINTS, COMPETITION, WINNING AND BLOGGING FOR BUSINESS - It's Not A Sprint. It's A Marathon. - 02/04/08 11:28 AM
YOU HAVE TO START SOME WHERE. COME ON FOLKS, YOU JUST CAN'T START AT THE TOP. There has been so much on the RAIN lately about points, I thought I would jump in. Why not?? We all have different motivations and experiences on THE RAIN. HISTORY ON THE RAIN. I have been a member of ActiveRain since August 2006. My first post was on August 13, 2006. I posted about Copyright, something with which I have some experience. Fact is, we can post about any topic in which we have an interest and will gain points. Whether or not we get comments, and more points,
