IT ISN'T NECESSARY TO HAVE SYMPATHY FOR THE COLD CALLER. THE decision to practice PUSH advertising leaves the PUSHER vulnerable to having the person you called hang up on you. Sometimes it's the only way to stop the conversation. The COLD CALLER interrupts your schedule, keeps talking and when you say "good-by" and hang up the phone, they accuse you of hanging up on them. We're not hanging up. We're simply ending the conversation. The rudeness isn't on the part of the person ENDING the conversation. The rude behavior is from the person COLD CALLING you to sell you something.

I've been waiting for some winter weather. Not because I particularly like it. I do not. But, I believe that someone in a garden shop once told me that tulip bulbs bloom better if they get a good freeze during the winter months. I don't know if it's true but I figure he knows more than I so, when it freezes I just say, "Good for the tulip bulbs."

Gena Reide inquired of about market conditions in areas across the country. Well, I just returned from an enlightening tour of new homes in what, up until a few months ago was a very hot area of Northern Virginia. Our office met for a couple of hours to review the new Virginia Contract of sale and then visited a major builder's new home community for a builder's luncheon to show off their model homes.
