Loudoun County attendance schedules are determined by law and have traditionally had opening day the day following Labor Day, first Monday of September. This year, due to a waiver, schools will open on August 29, 2011. This early opening schedule permits for an earlier last day of school.

WHITE TAIL DEER IN LOVETTSVILLE VIRGINIA - FROM MY OFFICE WINDOW
I've known for some time that about a small herd of White Tail Deer live in the wooded area across the raod from my home.
Now that the leaves are down, I see them moving around quite often during the day. Also, since it's Deer hunting season, the Deer move around quite a bit more.
White Tail Deer are overpopulated in Loudoun County with about 5.8 Deer per acre. The Deer population throughout the commonwealth is only 2.4 Deer per acre.
THAT'S LIFE IN THE COUNTRY FOLKS.
